Characteristics
RC model of one of the most famous training aircraft - E-flite SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan with a span of 1.5 m with electric retractable landing gear and flaps. The model's drive has been completely modernized and now includes a brushless motor and controller with the option of 3-4S LiPo power supply for higher performance and better aerobatic capabilities. Installed Spektrum electronics - Smart 70A controller and receiver. Smart Spektrum electronics in the model offer a number of advantages that you will not find elsewhere. With a compatible transmitter (sold separately), you have a wide range of telemetry data available - battery voltage, current consumption, temperature and other data. This BNF Basic version is equipped with a Spektrum receiver with improved AS3X+ technology, which even better stabilizes flight in wind and turbulence, as well as an optional SAFE Select system for easier and safer control.
The receiver also includes a new feature called Smart Transmitter File, which makes setup easy and takes seconds. More information can be found here.

The airframe is constructed of lightweight and durable EPO foam material. Preparing, assembling and transporting the model is very simple. No glue is required for initial assembly. The battery compartment is easily accessible through the large upper cabin cover. Hands-free connectors simplify wing assembly – eliminating the tedious task of connecting individual servo connectors.
Template information
The legendary Texan is a training aircraft used by the USA and its allies from World War II until the 1960s. It was flown by pilots of the USAAF, US Navy, RAF and British Commonwealth countries, and after the war it was exported to 40 countries around the world. A total of over 13,000 units were produced, and the aircraft was gradually modernized, equipped with more powerful engines and, of course, armament as needed. It is still used in many flying clubs today and can be seen at many air shows. The SNJ was a naval version of this type, differing from the standard AT-6 version only in minor modifications (e.g. instrumentation and the ability to land on aircraft carriers).

Skill Level 2 – Requires some experience
Skill level 2 aircraft like this model are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and skills in assembling, setting up and/or flying similar class models. Before flying the SNJ-5/AT-6 Texan 1.5m BNF version, you should have experience with models such as the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m.

Bind-N-Fly version
Already own a Spektrum™ RC transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft come ready to fly. The motor with speed control, servos and Spektrum 2.4 GHz receiver are installed. So all you have to do is pair the receiver in the model with your compatible transmitter, complete the final assembly and fly (transmitter, battery and charger sold separately).

Smart™ technology
The exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC provides a range of real-time telemetry data, including motor RPM, current draw, flight battery voltage and more, via the Smart Receiver and compatible Spektrum transmitters equipped with Spektrum AirWare™ technology (DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and more). In addition, the receiver comes preloaded with a model file that allows all settings to be imported into the NX and iX series transmitters during pairing. Optionally, the motor thrust reverser can be set.

Detailed processing
The model features a wealth of scale details, including panel lines, a mock-up of the radial engine, a pilot figure, and other elements.

Flaps and landing gear
Factory-installed electric retractable landing gear with covers and split flaps are functional features that take your experience to the next level. Enjoy flying the model with the landing gear retracted and take off and land at lower speeds on the flaps like real pilots.

Universal performance
The brushless motor can be powered by a 3S or 4S LiPo battery with a capacity of 2200–4000 mAh. Install a 3S battery for slow and smooth flying, or a 4S battery for superior performance. The practical top and magnetically secured cover makes it easy to install and remove the battery.

Durability and accuracy
The lightweight yet durable EPO airframe is reinforced with composite for added strength. Digital servos provide reliable and precise control, allowing you to confidently perform aerobatic maneuvers.

Easy assembly
No glue or special tools are required for final assembly. And although it is conveniently sized to fit into many vehicles when fully assembled, you can quickly remove and reinstall the one-piece wing, which is made very easy thanks to the Hands-free connectors.

Iconic coloring
The airframe is factory finished in an iconic scheme based on SNJ-5 101, which still flies with the High Sky Wing – a Commemorative Air Force unit based in Midland, Texas.

AS3X™ stabilization
The Spektrum receiver is equipped with AS3X technology, which helps stabilize the model in flight. The receiver contains a three-axis MEMS gyro and accelerometer, and thanks to electronic stabilization, the control of the model is simplified , for example in windy weather. The model reacts similarly to a much larger model and its flight is calm, without maintaining its full controllability. AS3X brings more confidence in control.
SAFE Select™ technology for beginners
Thanks to the SAFE Select technology, even a less experienced pilot can control the model . The SAFE system prevents over-banking in turns and also limits climb and descent. Simply releasing the controller's control sticks returns the model to level flight. These functions will be appreciated especially by novice pilots who are not yet fully confident in controlling the models.
As the name SAFE Select suggests, it is an optional feature - it is up to you whether you want to use or disable SAFE technology. The pairing method determines whether the SAFE function should be enabled or disabled. It is also possible to disable or enable the SAFE function during flight using a free transmitter channel.
Benefits of SAFE Select™:
- It limits the maximum bank of the model and thus prevents the model from going into a spin.
- Automatically puts the model into horizontal flight when you release the transmitter control sticks
- Using a free channel, the SAFE system can be turned on or off during flight.

Recommended chargers for conventional LiPol and Smart batteries
If you decide to use modern Smart LiPo batteries in your RC model airplanes or helicopters, or to charge your batteries from other manufacturers, then we recommend these chargers:
- Spektrum S155 mains charger with one output 1x 55W .
- Spektrum S1100 mains charger with one output 1x 100W .
- Spektrum S2100 mains charger with one output 2x 100W .
- Spektrum S2200 mains charger with two outputs 2x 200W .

Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of flying RC models you need suitable adhesives, a tool kit and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our range we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm Allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). For assembly, Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will certainly come in handy, and for cutting, Modelcraft cutting knife with A6 washer.
For quick repairs of aircraft models, we recommend a fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g
Protective covers for batteries
Protective packaging is designed to reduce the risk associated with transporting and charging batteries. LiPo batteries can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity while maintaining small dimensions and low weight. LiPo batteries are particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore need to be carefully protected.
