The RC model for remote control UMX Turbo Timber Evolution BNF Basic has a strengthened structure of the kite compared to the previous version, completely new electronics. Flying is easier with the optional SAFE® Select ( Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope ) flight envelope protection. More powerful AC motor compatible 2S and 3S LiPol and new control unit, 3-blade propeller, installed LED landing, navigation and strobe lights. Flap slots for short takeoff and landing and STOL capabilities, large balloon wheels. The control unit in the model provides telemetry for compatible Spektrum transmitters - supply voltage and more.
The E-flite® UMX™ Turbo Timber Evolution model aircraft is a scaled down ultra-micro version of the very popular Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m! The Evolution is also an improved version of the best-selling UMX Turbo Timber, featuring a reinforced airframe and stronger connections to handle the more powerful new motor and the option to use LiPol 3S. The UMX™ Turbo Timber Evolution can be equipped with optional floats (sold separately).
The model is completely ready to fly, it has an installed motor with a regulator, servos and a receiver. It features top-of-the-line Spektrum® 2.4GHz technology to pair the model with your 6+ channel Spektrum, DSMX® / DSM2® aviation transmitter, so you can be flying straight out of the box.
The UMX™ Turbo Timber Evolution features a control unit that includes a Spektrum™ controller and receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9 , NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others), during flight.
UMX™ Turbo Timber Evolution is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. The AS3X's electronic stabilization works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence and deliver a locked-in feel that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger aircraft. The optional use of SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off during flight with the flip of a switch.
The model is powered by a new more powerful AC motor with a 3-blade propeller, which has better performance than the previous version of the UMX™ Turbo Timber and provides better STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) characteristics. The drive is compatible with LiPol 2S and 3S and offers comfortable flying with two cells or acrobatic flying with three cells LiPol.
Balloon wheels ensure take-off and landing even on low grass, absorb bumps, do not crash into the terrain thanks to wide tires. If you have a suitable body of water within reach, you can buy floats, which you can exchange for a fixed chassis and you can meet new experiences.
The possibility of using additional slots on the leading edges of the wing that are included in the package, as well as the flaps that are already installed, contributes significantly to flying at low speed. Lightweight construction, high power drive unit and oversized flaps will get the model in the air sooner than you expect.
Like previous UMX Timber models, the Evolution is equipped with lighting for flying in the dark. Realistic LED landing, navigation and simulated strobe lights are factory installed and powered by a flight battery.
The model's reinforced airframe with stronger and more precise ball joints is light but durable. And in the unfortunate event that you damage any airframe components and are unable to repair them, there are a number of replacement parts available.
Timber is equipped with the AS3X stabilization system. The AS3X system eliminates the influence of wind or turbulence - in short, the model will fly like a string. Driving the model is thus similar to driving a much larger model. At the same time, it maintains full controllability of the model, so the pilot has a feeling of maximum safety.
Another technology is the SAFE Select system. This system is designed for beginners and works so that if the control sticks are in neutral, the model will automatically level off and continue level flight. It is only up to the pilot to adequately control the throttle. This mode is ideal for less experienced pilots or for those who are not confident enough to control small models, e.g. during landing or take-off. The model simply lands safely by itself.
The name SAFE Select itself suggests that it is an optional feature. The SAFE system is activated using the 5th channel (we recommend assigning a suitable switch to the 5th channel to turn on the SAFE function).
UMX Turbo Timber Evolution just takes it out of the box and you can start using it. The transport box can be advantageously used for its safe transport. The model is equipped with top-of-the-line Spektrum® 2.4GHz technology, just pair it with your 6+ channel Spektrum DSMX®/DSM2® transmitter.
For commissioning, it is necessary to add a 6+ channel Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 transmitter (Spectrum DXe, DX6 or higher), a 2S - 3S LiPol battery with a capacity of 280mAh to 300mAh and a suitable charger. The model is equipped with a JST-PH battery connector, we recommend using a charging cable with bananas or a Celectra charger to charge the battery with a JST-PH connector.
The model is fitted with JST-PH and JST connectors, i.e. the model is powered directly from the SPMX3002S30 battery balance connector. To charge the battery, we recommend using either a Celectra charger or a Spektrum conversion charging cable, IC3 battery - 2S JST-PH male. If you use a SPMX3003SJ30 battery with a JST connector, it connects directly to the model's control unit, for charging you can use the Spektrum conversion cable IC3 battery - JST device.
If you want to operate the Mikro Turbo Timber as a seaplane, then you need a set of floats. The kit contains everything needed for assembly.
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators can, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity for a long driving time. Conversely, the LiPo battery is especially susceptible to mechanical damage.
