The package includes a fully assembled Model UMX WACO SAFE RC model aircraft with a SPMA3196 micro receiver with advanced SAFE and AS3X technology and SPMSA2030L linear servos that control the rudder, elevator and ailerons. Drive by powerful AC motor SPMXAM4000 - 1208-1900Kv, 12-P. The model has finished coloring, mock-up radial engine, a number of mock-up details. For commissioning, you will need a 2S-3S 280 mAh - 300 mAh LiPo drive battery and a Spektrum RC transmitter with DSM2 or DSMX modulation.

WACO Aircraft History

An American symbol of the interwar era, the Weaver Aircraft Co.'s sport biplanes, based in Troy, Ohio, are the Waco planes. In the 1930s it was one of the most successful manufacturers of private and business aircraft in the States. Pilots appreciated their excellent flight characteristics most of all. The original YMF model became known to pilots as the most beautiful sports machine of all time. The aircraft is one of the most famous biplanes with its characteristic silhouette and still appears at air shows today. Nowadays, the company focuses on the production of biplanes, the appearance of which corresponds to the golden era of aviation in the 1930s. The aircraft are of course equipped with the most modern avionics, but the appearance, radial engines and structural details are still preserved. In 1985, the founders of the Classic Aircraft Foundation decided to revive the production of the iconic YMF machine.

The E-flite UMX WACO SAFE now features the optional SAFE Select electronic flight envelope protection system that makes the model more stable and also includes exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® technology that keeps the model in straight flight so you feel like you're flying with a much larger model, even in windy conditions. A 2S - 3S compatible AC motor is installed. Add your own 2S 280mAh LiPol battery for comfortable flying or use a 3S 300mAh battery for greater speed and unlimited vertical performance. The control unit includes a Spektrum™ controller and receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage telemetry in flight to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters. The UMX Waco is now available in two color combinations of yellow and a lighter unpainted white base version. The Bind-N-Fly® model comes 100% assembled and ready to pair with your 5+ channel transmitter, with DSMX®/DSM2® modulation, so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box! Waco is suitable for flying in gyms and similar large spaces, or outdoors in a large enough area.

Advantage of the Bind-N-Fly version

Already own a Spektrum aerial transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) RC model airplanes allow quick preparation for flight with the best possible control experience. The model is completely assembled with the power system, servos and Spektrum 2.4 GHz receiver installed. Therefore, just pair the receiver with your compatible transmitter, charge your battery, and then you can take off with the model!

Exclusive technology

UMX WACO is equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. The AS3X is a 3-axis gyroscope that works behind the scenes to eliminate the effects of wind and turbulence, making it seem like you're flying a bigger plane. Optional use of SAFE Select offers grade and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch! And if you don't want to enable SAFE Select features, simply pair the receiver normally and only AS3X stabilization will be active.

Telemetry option

The UMX WACO is equipped with a control unit that includes linear servos, a receiver and a Spektrum™ controller that provides real-time battery voltage telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2 / G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6 , 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and others) during flight.

Greater power of the drive unit

The new AC motor and controller allows the use of both 2-cell and 3-cell LiPol batteries, which expands the model's possibilities for greater speed and unlimited vertical performance when flying with 3S 280-300mAh LiPol batteries.

Mockup accessories

The UMX WACO is completely ready to fly, it is fully assembled, with finished coloring. The relatively complex strut system of the wing is completed and the model has stiff and strong wings thanks to this. The model appearance with a number of details, together with the equipment of the cabin with a pilot figure, is completely authentic.

Lightweight construction

Thanks to the lightweight EPS foam material, the construction of the model is light and durable. The flying weight of the model is 119g, so even a possible collision does not have to be fatal. In addition, repairability in the event of an accident is very good, it is necessary to use adhesives that do not etch polystyrene!.

Level 2 - Requires some experience

Skill level 2 RC models like the Waco are suitable for pilots who already have some experience flying faster and more acrobatic models. Although it is WACO's easiest-to-fly model yet, it is not the first suitable RC aircraft for new pilots, nor is it the model to take the "next step after the trainer". You should have the experience and skills required to successfully fly more powerful model types such as UMX Timber, or larger models such as E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Commander mPd 1.4m, Timber 1.5m, or similar classes, before attempting to fly the UMX WACO.

For commissioning, you need to add a 4+ channel Spektrum DSM2/DSMX transmitter, a 2S - 3S 280 - 300mAh LiPol battery with a JST-PH connector and the appropriate charger. Items are listed in recommended accessories.
