Do you have your off-road RC model and need a durable and well-programmed steering wheel transmitter ? The Spectrum DX5 Rugged DSMR is undoubtedly the right transmitter. Its cabinet is protected from impact by softened rails around the perimeter, the transmitter has an internal antenna, a snap ring, a robust steering wheel and a large lever under the steering wheel for thumb control. The molded polyurethane (TPU) circuit boards of the lower and upper parts of the transmitter housing protect the transmitter from unwanted shocks and to a large extent the moisture resistance has been increased. The transmitter can be hung on a strap, the loop on the top of the transmitter is used for this, so you can hang the transmitter on your neck. There is even a small tool box on the side of the transmitter. The water resistance of the internal electronics wires and the entire transmitter housing has been increased.
Spektrum DX5 Rugged RC transmitter has several auxiliary switches for lights, reels and other conveniences. An innovative touch control panel that offers greater moisture and dirt resistance is used to move the transmitter menu. Simply slide your finger on the control panel and click to select from the menu. Read the values on the easy-to-read LCD display. Integrated telemetry (the model must be equipped with a telemetry receiver such as the SR6000T) allows you to view real-time data such as engine speed, vehicle speed, battery voltage and temperature directly on the transmitter.
DSMR modulation
The DSMR modulation principle is similar to the DSMX modulation now used by Spektrum air transmitters. The signal transmission takes place in a spread spectrum spread out by direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) modulation. Only DSSS allows you to properly demodulate the signal even if another device is broadcasting on that channel (WiFi, BlueTooth, .. .). The DSMR uses 23 random channels from a total of 80 available channels to pause randomly. Each transmitter has a different selection of 23 channels and a different pseudo-random sequence. This method ensures the best possible immunity to interference by both Spectrum transmitters and other devices operating in the same 2.4 GHz band. The advantage of DSMR modulation is that it can be used to control ships.
Spektrum DX5 Rugged RC transmitter has an impressive list of available mixes for all kinds of applications, not just racing. In addition to user-defined mixers, the transmitter comes with preset mixes that include dual gas, dual brakes, MOA 4 wheel steering and dual steering. Mixes can be switched, activated and edited. The transmitter menu is clear and intuitive, so if you have basic experience with transmitters, you will only need the manual a little.

Safety strut
To increase the rigidity of the transmitter housing, a reinforcement between the base and the upper body was inserted at the front of the transmitter. This prevents the handle from breaking or rupturing and allows users to use it creatively, for example, to attach additional elements such as a torch or camera.
One-handed control
An entirely new feature of Spektrum is the ability to control the transmitter with just one hand. For example, if you need to take a picture of a car while you are driving, and you don't have a camera colleague at hand, you can use a special steering control to control your thumb and gas with your index finger. This will release the other hand to take the picture.
Control panel
So far, a scroll button has been used as the control interface. This does not have much protection against moisture, so a panel with buttons was chosen for the DX5 Rugged transmitter, which can be protected against moisture ingress. The sensitivity of the panel buttons can be optionally set.
Easy to program
DX5 Rugged programming is simple. The intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate through menus and change settings quickly. For most programming functions you will not need a manual, the transmitter menu is set up logically and clearly.
Integrated telemetry
The built-in telemetry feature can offer real-time information about important values such as the battery voltage of your car, signal quality, engine temperature and more. By using the audible alert system, you can program the DX5 Rugged whether the set values reach or exceed the limits you define. Telemetry is functional with a receiver that allows telemetry, such as the SR6000T (sold separately).
