TRX-4 chassis

The chassis is built from two steel profiles, which ensure sufficient rigidity of the chassis. Thanks to the engine located in the front, sufficient load is ensured on the front wheels, so the model can easily handle driving even on steep slopes. The battery is located in the chassis axis, so the model is precisely balanced and does not tilt while driving.

To reduce maintenance, the lower part of the chassis is fitted with covers that, together with the fenders, prevent excessive dirt from entering the model's chassis.

Axles with axle gearbox

The TRX-4 chassis uses portal axles with an axle gearbox. The axle gearbox increases ground clearance, reduces stress on the differentials, gearbox, and driveshafts, and further reduces torsional force - the model leans less.

The front wheels can be turned by 45°, and the steering is provided by a Traxxas 2075X servo with metal gears. Thanks to the new chassis, the model has achieved an excellent approach angle.

Two-speed gearbox

The model is equipped with a two-speed gearbox. Gear changes are controlled by a red rocker switch on the transmitter. This solution makes the TRX-4 chassis a very versatile model that can drive slowly or quickly - as you need.

Lockable differentials

The differential locks are independently controlled by 2 servos. The force from the servos is transmitted via bowden cables to the differentials. The locks are controlled by a three-position switch on the transmitter and provide the following combinations:

Turning angle 45°

The 45° steering angle of the front wheels gives the model an exceptionally small turning radius and high maneuverability, suitable for off-road driving or trial rides over obstacles.

GTS oil shock absorbers

Four oil-filled GTS shock absorbers provide smooth damping and perfect driving characteristics. The aluminum shock absorber bodies are equipped with a nut for adjusting the spring preload. Special X-rings ensure maximum tightness of the shock absorber around the piston rod.

Authentic bikes

Canyon Trail tires made of extra soft S1 compound for high traction are glued to black 1.9" spoked wheels. The wheel carrier is a 12 mm hex.

Staple-free bodywork

The new body mounting system using hooks in the wheel arches ensures quick and easy battery replacement and the body appearance is not disturbed by the clips. To remove the body, simply press the hooks and pull the body upwards. Installing the body is even easier, just place it on the chassis.

Power steering

The model is controlled by a Traxxas 2075X high-torque digital servo, with a torque of 9 kg.cm. The servo is equipped with two ball bearings on a milled shaft and metal gears for maximum durability. Waterproof* construction.

Transmission and differential servos

The model is equipped with a total of three waterproof* 2065 micro servos with a torque of 2.5 kg.cm. Two servos independently control the front and rear differential locks. The third servo then provides shifting for the two-speed gearbox.

Titan 21T engine

The model is powered by a Titan 21T 550 DC motor. The motor provides smooth operation even from low speeds. For better cooling, the motor has an integrated fan blowing air to the rotor.

DC regulator

The heart of the Traxxas model is the XL-5 HV DC electronic controller. The controller is designed to be powered by a 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo battery. The model can also be powered by 6-7-cell NiMH batteries. Easy selection of driving modes and other settings using the EZ-SET button. Controller status indication by LED diode. LVD protection against underdischarge of the LiPo battery. Thermal protection. Water-resistant* construction.

The Traxxas XL-5 HV controller supports 5 driving modes:

2. Sport : Forward, brake and reverse
   
3. Race : Forward and brake. Reverse is not available.
   
4. Training : Forward limited to 50% power, brake 100% and reverse limited to 50%. This mode is suitable for children
   
5. Trail : Forward, brake, reverse. Controls near neutral are very smooth
   
6. Crawl : Drive forward, brake in neutral, and straight into reverse.
   

Traxxas TQi Four-Channel RC Kit with Bluetooth

The four-channel transmitter, in addition to precise and reliable control, is also equipped with a slot for placing a Bluetooth module (sold separately). The Bluetooth module will allow you to connect the RC model with the clear graphical Traxxas Link application, which you can install on your Smartphone for free.

The Traxxas Link app for Apple devices is available for free on the AppStore , and the app for Google Android devices is available for free on GooglePlay .

The Traxxas Link App is a powerful app that gives you complete control over the operation and tuning of your Traxxas RC model with stunning visualization and absolute precision of settings. Traxxas Link can display telemetry data that the model provides in real time, such as speed, rpm, temperature, battery voltage and model tilt. You can share RC model settings, you can create any number of profiles for a specific track or user, e.g. children. All in an app with brilliant graphics, which is a given from Traxxas.

Telemetry - model tilt

Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, you can monitor the tilt of the model on your phone. To view additional telemetry (battery voltage, RPM, temperature), telemetry sensors must be installed.

Traxxas TQi receiver

RC receiver Traxxas TQi 5-channel TSM with telemetry for Traxxas TQi transmitters. Easy to use, pairing with a button. Status indication by LED. The receiver has integrated 3-axis MEMS sensors for learning the receiver's position.

The 5-channel receiver is also equipped with two connectors for connecting RPM (speed) and V/T (voltage/temperature) telemetry sensors.

Furthermore, a telemetry expansion module can be connected to the 4-pin connector, into which you can connect up to 6 additional sensors, including a very accurate GPS speed sensor.

Recommended LiPo batteries

The model can be operated with a 2 or 3 cell LiPo battery. For normal driving, a 2 cell LiPo battery (7.4 V) is fully sufficient. For operation with a higher speed range, a 3 cell LiPo battery can be used.

Recommended NiMH batteries

NiMH batteries do not require precise handling and are therefore suitable if the RC model car is operated by children (a NiMH battery will not be destroyed by a complete discharge). However, NiMH batteries have a lower capacity and a higher weight, so the driving time will be slightly shorter.

Wireless connection to your phone

By adding a Bluetooth module to the transmitter, you get the function of wirelessly connecting the RC model to the Traxxas Link application, which you can install on your phone for free. We recommend a phone holder to attach your phone to the transmitter.

Lighting - constant

For a breathtaking look during evening adventures, we recommend fitting the model with the complete, original LED lighting for the TRX-4 Land Rover Defender. The lighting not only looks great, but also perfectly illuminates the road. All LED lights of this lighting are permanently on. The set can be upgraded to Pro Scale later.

Pro Scale lighting - multifunctional

By installing Pro Scale lighting, you get all the realistic functions of a real car (functional brake and reverse lights, functional turn signals and hazard lights, adjustable headlight intensity). Possibility of remote control of the lighting using a phone via a Bluetooth module. Installing Pro Scale lighting on a Defender model requires a Pro Scale module and a Pro Scale lighting kit.

Winch

The winch is an integral part of every expedition model that will pull you out of any terrain. The original Traxxas winch is precisely designed to scale for TRX models. The winch is controlled by a remote control and develops a pulling force of up to 4.5 kg. To install the winch, it is necessary to add a tuning bumper - (more in the item description).

Traxx tracks for every terrain

The new Traxx Track Kit gives your TRX-4 a dramatic, unique look and will take you on any terrain. Easy to install, this tuning kit delivers a virtually unstoppable upgrade in power and traction.

Boat transport trailer

For stylish boat transport behind your model car, we recommend the three-axle trailer for the Traxxas Spartan/DCB M41, or the trailer for the Disruptor. Carrying bag and backpack

Carry your RC model comfortably and safely in a Traxxas sports bag or backpack. In addition to the main large pocket for the model, there are specially designed side pockets for batteries, charger, tools, etc.

Stand

The aluminum rotating stand will be the perfect addition to your service table or display shelf. The stand makes it easier to maintain the model and at the same time prevents deformation (sag) of the tires during long-term parking.

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of your Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, quality tire glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable car tool set from our range.

Screw glue is applied to the thread or head of the screw, which fixes it and prevents the vibrations caused by driving from loosening the screw connection. Screw glue has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with an appropriate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary superglue, a screw glued in this way may be impossible to loosen at all!

Tire glue is used to glue tires to the rim of the wheel. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon and at the same time the glue is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary superglue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!

Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are available for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily recognized by their golden-green color.
