The radiator is suitable for the Traxxas 1:10 models with the Velineon 550 AC motor. The radiator can also be used with Titan 550 DC motors. We recommend the use of water paste heat (order No. EFLM1913) under the perfect function of the radiator.
In AC motors, the use of a heat sink is the only way to cool the engine. The heat of AC motors is generated in the winding, which is located on the inside of the motor housing. The radiator thus directs heat from the engine to the environment.
When using the Traxxas Titan 550 DC Motor Cooler, it should be noted that heat is generated in the rotor windings and the motor commutator. The rotor is only air cooled, so in the event of an overheating of the engine, the gearmotor is lowered to give the engine a higher speed and better cooled by the internal fan. The use of the cooler is rather complementary.
