Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly™ (BNF™) planes make it easier than ever to get your model in the air quickly and with the best possible handling experience. The model comes complete with drive, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver, so all you have to do is pair the receiver to a compatible Spektrum transmitter, charge your battery and fly!

Exclusive technology

This model features exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes you look like you're flying a much larger aircraft. Optional use of SAFE Select offers pitch and roll limits and automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch to keep your Twin Otter as safe as possible!

Telemetry option

The UMX™ Twin Otter features a controller that includes two AC controllers and a Spektrum™ receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20 and others) in flight.

Two powerful AC motors!

Two powerful AC motors with counter-rotating three-blade propellers have an excellent power-to-weight ratio and long flight times with common and affordable 1S 500-800 mAh batteries. Differential thrust offers greater steering options for easy ground handling or aerobatics.

Install the floats

The UMX™ Twin Otter can take off from reasonably smooth surfaces using the tricycle landing gear, or you can take off from water such as pools, ponds and lakes using an optional set of floats. And no matter which gear you choose to fly, both are easy to install and can be changed in minutes!

Installed LED lighting

Realistic looking LED landing and navigation lights are factory installed and powered by a flight battery to enhance your flying experience even more.

Ready to fly

The UMX™ Twin Otter is fully assembled and ready to fly right out of the box! It features industry-leading Spektrum™ 2.4GHz technology that pairs with your Spektrum DSMX®/DSM2® 5+ channel transmitter so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box.

Durable construction

Thanks to the construction of EPS material, the model has a light, yet durable airframe. In the event that you damage any part of the model aircraft and are unable to repair it, there are a number of replacement parts available.

SAFE technology

Take advantage of the exclusive AS3X 3-axis stabilization technology and the ability to activate the SAFE™ (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) flight envelope protection, which increases flight safety for novice pilots. No programming is required, simply remove the pairing connector during model pairing according to the instructions in the manual. The SAFE function ensures the limitation of the flight envelope and ensures the extreme flight limits.

Selecting SAFE activates:

• The limit of tilt, climb and descent will not allow excessive climb and drag, for example at the start or greater tilt in a corner
  
• Auto-leveling will immediately return the model to level flight when the control levers are released to neutral

Accessories for normal operation

For the normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our assortment, we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will certainly come in handy for assembly, and for cutting a Modelcraft cutting knife with an A6 pad.

For quick repair of model airplanes, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g

Protective covers for accumulators

Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
