The Apprentice STOL S 0.7m BNF is equipped with Horizon Hobby's exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, thanks to which you can learn to fly successfully. The exclusive SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology helps to limit dangerous tilts during flight and thus prevent accidents. Ascent, descent and side tilt will not exceed the permitted limit, so there is no uncontrolled fall, but it must always be remembered that the model must move at a speed that ensures a sufficient amount of buoyancy on the chalk. The model's electronics allow you to use flight modes, Beginner with less tilt, Advanced mode with more tilt and Expert mode without restrictions. The turbulent environment is effectively balanced by the AS3X 3-axis gyroscope, so the model can fly even in less wind.
Thanks to the large wheels with oversized tires, it is possible to take off and land from low grass, dirt and worse surfaces. The advanced construction of the model's airframe in light and very durable EPO foam with a removable wing makes transport, storage and replacement as easy as possible. The model's 4-channel control plus SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology with beginner, advanced and expert flight modes makes it easy to learn to fly and then progress to performing aerobatics including flips, spins and even backflips.
Already own a transmitter equipped with Spektrum™ DSMX or SLT technology? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) RC airplane models allow you to fly fast and with the best possible control experience. The model has a power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you have to do is top up the battery, pair the receiver with a compatible transmitter, complete final assembly and go flying.
The Apprentice STOL S 700mm has been scaled down from the popular Apprentice 1.5m and 1.2m models, but has also been designed to offer similar STOL capabilities to the E-flite® Timber® range. It's in an "ultra-micro" size to make it more affordable and comfortable to fly in smaller spaces like parks, playgrounds, etc.
The installed outrunner AC motor is compatible with affordable and common 2S 300mAh rechargeable LiPol batteries. It is more powerful and efficient than DC motors, giving the Apprentice STOL S the ability to fly in light winds that other ultra-micro models typically cannot handle.
The large tires and steerable spur wheel allow for taxiing, take-off and landing on a variety of surfaces that most models of this size cannot handle. From grass surfaces in many parks and sports fields to gravel paths and paved surfaces.
The construction of strong, stiff and light EPO material provides the model with great durability, therefore it is strong enough to handle frequent flying. This makes the Apprentice STOL S 700mm the most durable ultra-micro trainer to date! And in the unfortunate event that you damage any part of the model and are no longer able to repair it, spare parts are available.
A beginner, it has limited tilt in a corner as well as ascent and descent, when the levers are released into neutral, the model stabilizes in a horizontal position, the engine speed is regulated according to ascent or descent, and it is also possible to use electronic assistance during take-off and landing.
Advanced mode allows the model to tilt more, but it will not roll onto its back or fall. Flight positions are limited to about 60° pitching and tilting. There is more control freedom and minimal flight corrections are made.
In the Experienced flight mode, control is completely free with no restrictions on flight positions. You can fly on your back and perform acrobatic maneuvers.
If you ever lose control of the aircraft in the more advanced flight modes, simply switch to beginner mode and release the control sticks. SAFE® Plus technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
For the normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our assortment, we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will certainly come in handy for assembly, and for cutting a Modelcraft cutting knife with an A6 pad.
For quick repair of model airplanes, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
