CIU-3 is a USB interface for communication between Futaba devices supporting setting via Link program (such as S.BUS / S.BUS2 servos, gyro and Futaba controllers) or firmware update via PC with Windows operating system (Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10). It takes the form of a standard USB "keychain" with an LED operating status indicator.

After downloading and installing the Link utility (free to download from the Futaby website), the CIU-3 connects to a free USB 2.0 port on the PC (depending on the version of the operating system, it may be necessary to install a USB driver). Powered by USB port; the set / updated device is connected via the PC-Link cable adapter. The connected device uses either its own internal power supply (eg T6K transmitter) or, for example, from a receiver battery connected to a PC-Link adapter (S.BUS / S.BUS2 servos).

The utility provides comfortable setup or update in a clear "Windows" style.
