The package includes the E-flite Apprentice STS 1.5ms RC airplane model with installed components: E-flite AC motor BL15 840rpm, E-flite AC controller 30A Smart, 4pcs E-flite servo Standard 37g, 2pcs E-flite servo Micro 13g Digital , Spektrum control unit: Apprentice STS, Spektrum receiver Serial Micro SRXL2 DSMX with connector. The set also includes a Spektrum DXs DSMX transmitter, instructions in Czech, manual EN, DE, FR, IT.
New electronics in the proven Apprentice STS 15e model is ideal for pilot training, new options with SAFE and AS3X functions, DXS transmitter. You can also have SAFE+ functions (AutoLand and Virtual Fence) with optional GPS module and landing sensor (not included). Electronics are installed.
In the basic version of the set, you will have a complete model that has flight modes with the protection of the SAFE flight envelope. However, if you want take-off and landing assistance and a virtual fence, you can buy an additional GPS module with a landing sensor (LAS) and you will get the SAFE Plus function, thanks to which you will have at your disposal a flight assistant capable of automatic landing - AutoLand, return above the starting point - Holding Pattern and a virtual fence with a limitation of the distance of the model from the starting point - Virtual Fence.
The E-flite® Apprentice® STS 1.5m is based on one of the best platforms ever designed for learning to fly radio controlled aircraft - the proven Apprentice S 15e model. The model is intended for beginners and moderately advanced pilots. It is made of solid and very durable material Z-Foam. The model stands out for its quiet flight thanks to the wing with a semi-symmetrical profile, the flight is therefore reasonably slow and very stable. The wide 3-wheel landing gear has a steerable nose wheel, so take-off and landing are very easy. The RC kit is in the 2.4GHz band with DSMX modulation, the proven Spektrum DXS transmitter will ensure a secure connection.
The model will allow you to continue developing your piloting skills. Thanks to the suitable design and powerful engine, you can start learning the basic elements of acrobatics. Apprentice STS can handle somersaults, twists, headwinds and flying on the back. Of course, you have to turn off the SAFE flight envelope protection to have full driving freedom. You can even install optional floats and take off and land on water.
If you decide to supplement the model with GPS, you can also add a completely new automatic landing assist sensor to the model, the Spektrum Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) SPMA3180. It is easy to install and provides automatic control during the difficult landing phase. The sensor can read the height of the model above the terrain and better guide the model to the exact height at which to perform sub-leveling and landing. It thus eliminates unwanted bounces when landing from a greater height and reduces the possibility of damage.
The Apprentice STS 1.5m is equipped with a telemetry controller that can provide a range of real-time power system related telemetry data to compatible transmitters. It also indicates the voltage of the flight battery via LEDs and sound alerts from the DXS transmitter, which is part of the basic version of the RTF. It will also provide motor speed, current, total battery voltage and more for Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and more)
The construction of the E-flite Apprentice STS model is made of very durable and light EPO foam. The wing is attached to the fuselage with rubber bands so it can come loose in the event of a hard landing or impact to minimize damage. In the event that you damage any parts or components of the kite beyond repair by gluing, there are a number of replacement parts available.
Apprentice STS 1.5m has completely installed electronics and drive. What needs to be done? Only to complete a quick and final assembly and without the use of glue. Therefore, you will be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge the battery!
The landing gear used has ideal characteristics for a training model aircraft. It is wide so that the model does not tip over, 3-wheeled for a stable and fully controllable take-off and landing and has excellent maneuverability when driving. In addition, thanks to the bow leg, it does not tip over on the propeller and therefore does not damage it.
Do you have a body of water nearby and are you a fan of seaplanes? Equip the Apprentice STS model with floats! With the optional EFLA550 float kit, you'll be up and running in minutes, and all necessary mounting accessories are included in the model and float kit.
The Spektrum Landing Assist Sensor (LAS) is easy to install and can provide automatic assistance during landing. Assists inexperienced pilots in landing by detecting height above terrain for accurate alignment and minimizes or eliminates bounce (works on most surfaces to ensure a safe landing).
A beginner, it has a limited elevator and aileron tilt, when the levers are put in neutral, the model stabilizes in a horizontal position, the engine speed is regulated according to the climb or descent, and there is also assistance during take-off and landing.
The Advanced mode allows a greater tilt of the model, but it will not roll over on its back or fall. Flight positions are limited to approximately 60° tilt. There is already a lot of control freedom and minimal flight corrections are made. When flying above 15m, the automatic comparison of the model to the horizontal position after releasing the levers is not functional.
In the Expert flight mode, control is completely free without corrections and without restrictions on flight positions. You can even fly on your back and perform acrobatic maneuvers.
The transmitter has 4 LED transmitters on the front of the case under the battery voltage indicator, which can currently inform you of the status of the flight battery. In order for this function to be accessible, it is necessary to use a receiver and controller compatible with the Smart system. Four green LEDs illuminate when the flight battery is fully charged, 3 indicate voltage between half and full charge, 2 a half-charged battery, and one LED. If the battery is low, the transmitter also emits a warning tone in this situation.
After activating and pressing the button, the AutoLand Assisted Landing function will be activated and the Carbon Cub S+ will automatically land at the launch initialization location. You can interrupt the automatic landing at any time by simply pressing a button, avoid obstacles or adjust the direction, or if there is no danger, let the system work to guide the model to a safe landing. As you gain more confidence, you can take more control and eventually learn to land without assistance.
This nifty exclusive SAFE Plus feature essentially allows you to "pause" your flight so that when activated and quickly pressed, the aircraft will automatically return to a position above the GPS home point and circle until the command is cancelled. It's a great way to safely hand off control to a friend or regain visual contact if you're out of control and don't know the model's position.
It's very easy to let the model fly too far, but with Virtual Fence you don't have to worry anymore because it creates an invisible boundary that the model won't cross. When it reaches this limit, it automatically turns and flies back, then flaps its wings to indicate that steering control has been re-established.
If you ever lose control of the aircraft in more advanced flight modes, simply switch to beginner mode and release the control sticks. SAFE® Plus technology automatically returns the aircraft to level flight.
For the normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our assortment, we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will certainly come in handy for assembly, and for cutting a Modelcraft cutting knife with an A6 pad.
For quick repair of model airplanes, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
We recommend a 3-cell (11.1 V) LiPol drive battery to power the model.
