The Trailwalker Portal+ RTR features new high-clearance portal axles. These new portal axles feature all-metal gears, ball bearings, and a new larger pocket for a more durable internal input bearing. With almost an inch more clearance than standard straight axles, the portals fit perfectly into Enduro series.
At the heart of the Enduro Trailwalker Portal+ RTR is the revolutionary Stealth(r) X transmission. Although it looks like a conventional transmission from the outside, it's anything but conventional on the inside. The Stealth(r) X transmission features the ability to adjust the rear drive ratio independently of the front drive in three levels: in the standard setting it sends 5.7% higher speed to the front axle, optionally it is possible to install gears for an 11.83% increase in front wheel speed (part of the RTR), or for identical 1:1 speed front and rear (available independently).
Power is transferred to the tires by three-piece telescopic driveshafts with an extruded aluminum center section, universal front axles, and hardened steel ring and pinion gears. With the Enduro drivetrain, reliable power transfer will not be a problem.
As with other Enduro chassis, the steering lines have been moved from the usual behind-the-axle (BTA) location. This feature significantly improves the approach angle and front axle clearance, making it much easier to handle in difficult terrain.
The Enduro Trail Truck is ready for adventure right out of the box and is equipped with powerful electronics. An extremely smooth and powerful 14-speed 5-slot DC motor is coupled with a 2-in-1 unit, integrating an electronic speed controller and a receiver with a built-in LED controller. Controlling this beast on the road is ensured by 4-channel 2.4GHz transmitter and Reedy Power servo with high torque metal gears.
Chassis features
- PORTAL AXLES: When tackling tough terrain, ground clearance is essential. That’s why the Enduro Ecto Portal RTR features all-new high-clearance portal axles. With nearly an inch more center-of-axle clearance than standard straight axles, overcoming tough obstacles is a breeze. Not only are metal gears used to ensure maximum reliability, but so are six bolts that hold the portal gears securely in place. That many bolts means a stronger portal case and less chance of the gears coming loose under heavy loads.
- BTA STEERING AND ALUMINUM STEERING LEVERS: Rear-axle steering provides better approach angles, greater clearance and a cleaner look. Bolt-on aluminum steering plates allow the user more adjustment, strength and future modifications.
- INTEGRATED WINCH SERVO MOUNT: Mounting the winch directly to the chassis is the strongest and most reliable location on any trail machine. Positioned next to the steering servo, it ensures overall chassis balance and weight distribution.
- THREADED ALUMINUM SHOCK BODY: These threaded, oil-filled aluminum shocks come with plastic collars and bleed plugs for easy tuning. They're ideal for maintaining chassis stability in even the roughest terrain.
- REEDY POWER CRAWLER MOTOR: The new 5-slot, 14-lead DC crawler motor from Reedy Power delivers ample torque with a smooth power delivery. This allows for slow, precise acceleration while maintaining consistent power over rough terrain and obstacles.
- 2-in-1 ESC/Receiver Unit: The Ecto Portal RTR is equipped with a DC electronic speed controller (ESC) and a 2-in-1 receiver.
- Optional Gearing: If you want more gearing, we also offer an optional Factory Team 12/23 gearing set (sold separately) with approximately 36% underdrive.
- It features the proven Stealth(r) X transmission with adjustable rear drive ratio. You get standard gear options of 5.7% and 11.83% in the box. Combined with the all-new portal axles with zero underdrive, this is the optimal configuration for the average crawler. If you want even more rear underdrive, an optional 12/23 tooth gear set (#42372) is available separately for an additional 36% underdrive.
Body features
- Details matter. No trail truck would be complete without a detailed and realistic-looking bodywork. The Trailwalker Portal Plus RTR is just that, with a design inspired by the 70s and 80s. - The Trailwalker Plus features a highly durable polycarbonate body, painted in a glossy metallic color. Designed for both looks and function, this body features a one-piece construction with a removable bed roof, roll bar, injection-molded bumper and D-rings, windshield wipers, spare tire holder with cover, folding mirrors and front grille.
- The pivoting side mirror design reduces the risk of losing your mirrors off-road. Drive your vehicle with confidence that it can handle tight spaces.
- A set of officially licensed General Grabber™ X3 tires with a high-performance soft compound. The General Grabber™ X3 tires are mounted on bronze Ocho beadlock wheels. No more worrying about your RTR tires getting flat.
This vehicle requires additional parts to be functional. You will need additional equipment to get the vehicle up and running, such as batteries and a charger.
