The model can be further equipped with a functional winch, multi-function lighting and a wide range of other original accessory parts (sold separately). New to the TRX-4 Sport is the clampless body, which combines a clean look with a comfortable fit. Hidden latches in the TRX-4 Sport's wheel arches hold the body firmly in place, making assembly and disassembly quick and easy when turning on the model or changing the battery.
The model now includes factory-installed wheel arches on the chassis. The wheel arches add authenticity to the model, reduce dirt penetration into the model and provide support for the body.
The chassis is built from two steel profiles, which provide high chassis rigidity limiting torsion. Thanks to the engine, which is located in the front, sufficient load is ensured on the front wheels, so the model can easily handle driving even on steep slopes. The battery is located in the chassis axis for precise balancing.
The TRX-4 chassis uses portal axles with axle gearboxes. The axle gearbox increases ground clearance, reduces stress on the gearbox and cardan shafts, and further reduces torsional force - the model tilts less.
The TRX-4 Sport model is equipped with a single-speed transmission, providing impressive power along with high torque. The gear ratio corresponds to the second speed of the TRX-4 with a two-speed transmission. The compact gearbox includes a double friction clutch, which adds increased protection to the drivetrain.
The differentials on the axles of this lightweight model always transfer maximum power to all wheels without slipping, allowing you to drive even the most difficult terrain.
Four oil-filled GTS shock absorbers provide smooth damping and perfect driving characteristics. The aluminum shock absorber bodies are equipped with a nut for adjusting the spring preload. Maximum tightness of the damper around the piston rod is ensured by special sealing X-rings.
The model is controlled by a Traxxas 2075X high-torque digital servo, with a torque of 9 kg.cm. The servo is equipped with two ball bearings on a milled shaft and metal gears for maximum durability. Waterproof* construction.
The model is powered by a Titan 21T 550 DC motor. The motor provides smooth operation even from low speeds. For better cooling, the motor has an integrated fan blowing air to the rotor.
The heart of the Traxxas model is the XL-5 HV DC electronic controller. The controller is designed to be powered by a 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo battery. The model is controlled by a two-channel proportional steering wheel RC transmitter Traxxas TQ, operating in the 2.4 GHz band - interference-free operation. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA batteries.
There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (so that the model drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED diode. The transmitter can be set to reverse on the throttle and steering channels.

To operate the model, you need 4x AA batteries for the transmitter, a drive battery and a charger for the drive battery.
The model can be operated on a 2 or 3 cell LiPo battery. For normal driving, a 2 cell LiPo battery (7.4 V) is fully sufficient. For operation with a higher speed range, a 3 cell LiPo battery can be used.
NiMH batteries do not require precise handling and are therefore suitable if the RC model car is operated by children (the NiMH battery will not be destroyed by a complete discharge). However, NiMH batteries have a lower capacity and a higher weight, so the driving time will be slightly shorter.
Traxxas universal chargers can be used to charge Traxxas LiPo and NiMH batteries. Traxxas chargers are a simple and safe way to charge batteries. Traxxas uses the unique iD system, so you can always be sure that everything is connected simply and safely. There is an integrated chip in the battery connector that the Traxxas charger automatically recognizes and sets all battery charging parameters for you. More information here.

The winch is an integral part of every expedition model that will pull you out of any terrain. The original Traxxas winch is precisely designed to scale for TRX models. The winch is controlled by a remote control and develops a pulling force of up to 4.5 kg. To install the winch, it is necessary to add a tuning bumper - (more in the item description).

For stylish transport of a boat behind your car model, we recommend a three-axle trailer for the Traxxas Spartan/DCB M41, or a trailer for the Disruptor. The TRX-4 model, as one of the most user-modified models, often gains 1-2 kg in weight due to accessories. When increasing the weight of the model, it is necessary to use a stronger servo.The newly sold TRX models already have a controller with a powerful switched-mode BEC power supply and it is not necessary to use an external BEC power supply for stronger tuning servos with a current draw of up to 5 A (short-term).

For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, high-quality tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable set of car tools from our range.
Screw glue is dripped onto the thread or head of the screw, which fixes it and prevents vibrations caused by driving from loosening the screw joint. Screw glue has a special composition that allows easy loosening of the screw joint with an appropriate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary superglue, a screw glued in this way could be impossible to loosen at all!
Tire glue is used to glue tires to the rim of the disk. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, the glue is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks in the tire would gradually form around the rims!
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are supplied for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily identified by their golden-green color.
