Characteristics

The giant twin-engine RC model of the OV-10 Bronco military aircraft has a wingspan of more than 2.7m, a complete surface finish, a cabin with a cockpit and weapons models. Some history

The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco was a turboprop light attack and observation aircraft that was produced in the 1960s. Its main role was to manage air support for ground units. STOL, carrier takeoff, short runway takeoff and landing capabilities were assumed. Bronco aircraft performed observation, aerial guidance, helicopter escort, armed reconnaissance, light airlift and limited ground attack. The aircraft also carried out radiological reconnaissance, tactical aerial observation, marking targets for artillery and naval fire, aerial control of tactical air support and front lines, but also aerial photography from low altitudes. The standard armament consisted of 4 M60C 7.62 mm machine guns, it also had 4 hangers for bombs, rocket launchers and additional tanks. The Bronco fought in Vietnam and participated in Operation Desert Storm.

The RC model from Hangar 9® OV-10 Bronco is an all-wood balsa and plywood construction and is covered in an iron-on printed foil with faithful mock-up camouflage. Fans of model war machines will certainly find something to their liking with the Bronco model, which is not only really giant but also has an unconventional appearance with two hulls, a large cabin and a central pilot's nacelle. The model has a 3-part wing, there is enough space in the hulls to install gasoline engines with a volume of 30-35cc. A retractable undercarriage, which is part of the package, is also installed in the hull. The motors have laminated colored covers, the package also includes propeller cones in the required color. The retractable electric 3-wheel chassis is aluminum with sprung aluminum legs. The wheels are part of the model set. The model has functional 4-piece flaps. If you want to use an electric drive, motor beds for electric motors are available.

Wooden construction of the model

The frame of the Bronco is made of balsa and plywood, the laser-cut parts fit exactly and the individual parts of the model are therefore practically identical. The frame is not only light, but also rigid and strong as a whole.

Choose a drive unit

Are you a fan of electric drive or do you prefer the classic, i.e. combustion drive? In the accessories of the set, you will find both the engine bed for the electric drive and the accessories for mounting the internal combustion gasoline engine.
