Characteristics

The American Fairchild PT19 aircraft was mainly used to train army pilots. The Plug-N-Play® Hangar 9 PT-19 1.4m PNP model with the excellent flying characteristics of a sport aircraft is now available at a great price. It is equipped with an AC motor, controller, servos and a propeller! The all-balsa construction of light, laser-cut balsa and plywood is coated with the original UltraCote® film. You don't need glue for final assembly! The Spektrum™ Avian™ 60A Smart Controller can provide you with real-time battery voltage, current, motor speed and other data through compatible Spektrum receivers and transmitters.
During World War II, Fairchild PT-19 aircraft were involved in the training of thousands of military aviators. The PT-19 was a vital part of the primary flight training program and was therefore one of the most produced aircraft. The PT-19 M-62 first flew in May 1939 and later that year won a competition against 17 other designs for the Army's new trainer aircraft. Fairchild received its first Army order for a PT on 22 September 1939. Its strengths were that it was cheap, easy to maintain and had excellent flying characteristics. These aircraft were supplied to various WASP (Women's Airforce Service Pilots) bases around the country in 1942-1944. RC pilots can now fly this iconic machine as the Hangar 9® Fun Scale PT-19 PNP model. The all-wood model is equipped with the original UltraCote® film, which is long-lasting and easy to maintain. The modern and innovative Spektrum electronics installed in the PT-19 allow you to use telemetry capabilities with a compatible Spektrum RC car.

The two-piece wing allows for convenient transport and quick assembly at the airport. Final assembly of the PT-19 out of the box is easy and requires only standard tools. All you have to do is screw the model together, install the receiver, charge the battery, tune the radio and fly. The new Hangar 9® PT-19 PNP is a model with excellent flying characteristics of a sports aircraft at a great price.

Plug-N-Play version kit
The model comes in a Plug-N-Play® (PNP) version, so you don't have to worry about the equipment of the model. The motor with regulator and servos are installed in the model and all that remains is for you to add your own receiver and battery to the model. If you use a Spektrum receiver with telemetry, you will be able to retrieve telemetry data from the model.

Light wooden construction
Laser-cut, lightweight balsa and plywood construction, expertly assembled to exacting standards, gives the PT-19 model exceptional durability. Precision applied at the factory, the original Hangar 9® UltraCote® iron-on foil coating is easy to maintain and still has great vibrant colors.

Easy assembly
No glue is needed to assemble the model, and you can have the PT-19 model airplane ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge the battery! The removable wing makes transport and storage very practical and convenient.

Smart Technology
The PT-19 PNP features an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart AC controller that can provide a range of real-time power system-related telemetry data including motor speed, current, battery voltage and more via compatible receivers (including the AR637TA) and a Spektrum-equipped transmitter AirWare™ and real-time in-flight.

We recommend to buy
To complete and put into operation, you will need to purchase or complete a 6+channel RC kit, a LiPol battery 4S 14.8V to 6S 22.2V 3200-5000mAh with an EC5™ or IC5® connector and a suitable charger. When using a 6S Lipol battery, you will need a different propeller, because the included wooden 14x8.5 propeller is only designed to run on a 4S (14.8V) LiPol battery!

Recommended Spektrum transmitters
To pair the BNF version model, we recommend modern SPEKTRUM programmable transmitters:
- 6-channel DX Spektrum DX6e DSMX series transmitter with telemetry, 250 models in memory .
- 6-channel transmitter of the NX Spektrum NX6 DSMX series with the latest trends, Smart Technology compatibility, USB port and WiFi connectivity .
- 8-channel transmitter of the NX Spektrum NX8 DSMX series with the latest trends, Smart Technology compatibility, USB port and WiFi connectivity .

Recommended batteries
To power the model, you need a 4S 14.8 V to 6S 22.2V LiPo drive battery with a capacity of 3200 - 5000 mAh with an IC5 or EC5 connector. We recommend using Spektrum Smart batteries.
Spektrum batteries with Smart technology currently represent the most modern and safest way to maintain and charge batteries. The benefits of Spektrum Smart technology can be found here.

Recommended batteries
We recommend a 4-cell (14.8 V) LiPol drive battery to power the model.
- LiPol accumulator 30C Spektrum Smart LiPo 14.8V 5000mAh 30C IC5 with Smart technology.
- LiPol LiPo battery 50C Spektrum Smart LiPo 14.8V 5000mAh 50C HC IC5 with Smart technology

Recommended chargers for conventional and Smart batteries
If you decide to use modern Smart LiPo batteries in RC model airplanes, then we recommend the following chargers:
- Network charger Spektrum S1100AC with one output 1x 100W .
- Network charger Spektrum S1400 with one output 1x 400W .
- Network charger Spektrum S2200 with two outputs 2x 200W .

Accessories for normal operation
For the normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a storage case for LiPol batteries. From our assortment, we recommend a quality set of 1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0mm allen screwdrivers and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) will surely come in handy for assembly and Modelcraft cutting knife with A6 pad for cutting.
For quick repair of model airplanes, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy glue. From our offer, we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g

Protective covers for accumulators
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, can provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is particularly susceptible to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
