KAVAN MicroVario

The MicroVario is a highly sensitive altimeter / variometer that uses components made with the latest MEMS technology to achieve high accuracy while maintaining miniature dimensions. The sensor is able to detect small changes in atmospheric pressure, and thus indicate the rate of rise / fall.

FUNCTION

• Miniature dimensions - the sensor can be connected directly to the telemetry port of the receiver
• Power supply from receiver / telemetry bus (3.5-12 V)
• Accurate measurement of absolute / relative altitude and rate of rise / fall
• Automatic telemetry detection: Futaba S.BUS2, Graupner HoTT, Multiplex MSB, JETI Duplex EX
• Adjustable height and varia alarms
• Setting via transmitter telemetry menu (Graupner HOTT) / JETIbox emulator (JETI)
• Updatable firmware

Thanks to its miniature dimensions (as a servo connector), the MicroVario can be connected directly to the telemetry port of the receiver or to another suitable place in the model. It is compatible with telemetry systems Futaba S.BUS2, Graupner HoTT, Multiplex MSB, and JETI Duplex EX. When using Futaba and Multiplex RC kits, the height and rate of descent / ascent are displayed on fixed sensor addresses, when using Graupner HoTT kits there is an extended menu allowing setting MicroVaria directly on the transmitter and in JETI RC kits MicroVario is adjustable on the transmitter via emulator JETIbox.

Setting up MicroVaria with JETIBOX

After connecting to the JETIBOX, you can display the current measured values (these parameters are also part of the extended menu for Graupner HoTT and JETI RC kits):

• relative height
• vario
• absolute atmospheric pressure
• temperature

And set other parameters:

• menu language (Czech, English, German, French, Italian)
• variometer sensitivity
• model drop (to increase the sensitivity of thermal detection, it is possible to automatically read the value of the natural drop of the model in the slip)
• atmospheric pressure at sea level
• height rounding to whole meters
• altitude warning signaling (only for JETI and HoTT)
• varia warning signal (only for JETI and HoTT)
