Futaba S.BUS/S.BUS2 decoder SBD-2

Eight-channel decoder S-BUS / S.BUS2 enabling connection of up to eight classic servos to the serial bus S-BUS or S.BUS2, suitable for analog and digital servos with power supply 4.8-7.4 V (4-6 cells NiMH, 2S LiPo, LiFe). The decoder and servos can be powered from the receiver or from a special battery connected to the decoder. Decoder operation is indicated by an LED.

The assignment of the SBD-2 output channels can be changed by a switch on the decoder in 9 possible combinations, so that the connected classic servos will respond to the control signal of the given channel.

Using a decoder: The SBD-2 input is connected to the S.BUS or S.BUS2 port of the receiver (or to a hub connected to the SB US / S.BUS2 port) and classic servos (analog and digital) are connected to the outputs. It is also possible to connect S.BUS / S.BUS2 servos; in this case, the S.BUS / S.BUS2 servo will operate as a classic on the channel that is set for the given SBD-2 output, not on the channel stored in the servo memory.

Power supply for decoder and servos If a large number of strong servos is not used, it is possible to power the decoder and servos directly from the receiver via the input cable of the decoder connected to the S.BUS / S.BUS2 port of the receiver. If a large number of servos and strong / fast servos with high current consumption are used, it is advisable to use a separate servo power supply - in this case the short-circuit jumper is removed from the decoder power socket and replaced by a battery to power the connected servos. Thanks to this, you can easily implement a separate power supply of the servos (even in several circuits when using multiple decoders) without the need for any distribution boards / boxes.
