Characteristics
Slider QE Performance 1.99m Kit RC model glider kit with auxiliary motor (not included), 4-flap wing and floating elevator. The model has excellent flight characteristics, all-wood construction and mounting accessories.
The kit is made of carefully selected wood and contains all the necessary wooden parts and mounting accessories, such as hinges, screws, rods, rudder levers, forks, etc. Thanks to many design tools, such as auxiliary structure for fuselage and wings, assembly can be done quickly and easily. , however, requires experience with more complex wooden kits. The delivery also includes a comprehensive illustrated construction manual and a 1: 1 construction plan.
The model has excellent all-round flight characteristics and, thanks to its innovative design, is also impressive in terms of flight dynamics, which can be adjusted using the flaps for faster flight or slower to thermals. The flaps will also facilitate take-off and landing, you can take advantage of the options offered by your transmitter with the flight modes used. The elevator is floating and has ball bearings to accommodate the rocker arm in the rudder keel.
Simple hull design
Assembling the fuselage is not very laborious and can be done even by a novice modeler, it starts with assembling the sides and reinforcements on the plan, and then the individual components are glued according to the sequence of pictures in the picture manual. The construction goes quickly by hand and in a short time you will have the hull assembled as a whole.
The front of the fuselage
Glue a balsa block to the front of the fuselage and glue a laminate engine bed to it. Depending on the diameter of the laminate engine bed, you will then grind the balsa block into a circular cross-section.
Wing construction
The wing is assembled on a 1: 1 plan, the ribs have auxiliary protrusions that ensure the symmetry of the wing. Thanks to this, you don't have to worry about assembling the twisted wing.
Wing flaps
The use of flaps is much more versatile for gliders than for conventional engine aircraft models, because they are used not only during old and landing but also for setting flight modes during flight. Use the wing flaps to set a faster flight when moving across the sky or increase the profile curvature and adjust the slow flight to the thermals.
To build a model you need:
- Thin instant glue or non-toxic Super Fatic from Deluxe Materials
- Glue for gluing laser fired parts DM-AD87
- White PVA glue or sandable yellow aliphatic for wood
- Epoxy glue - 5 minutes
- Coating foil
For kit models, the pictorial instructions are usually limited to the work procedure for assembling the individual parts of the models. General assembly, such as the installation of drive and electronics components, is no longer mentioned, as modelers use a variety of accessories that are assembled according to the instructions for each component. It is also not possible to state a coating procedure that is specific to the type of coating material. This is also related to the method of hanging the rudders, because both hanging on the cover foil in combination with transparent tape and hanging the rudders on hinges are used.
The images used on this page are only used to present the already finished model, so that the shapes and the possibilities of color decorations stand out. Slider QE Performance is a kit that does not contain adhesives, coating material or tools!
We recommend buying
This is a classic all-wood kit. To assemble the model, you need suitable adhesives, basic modeling tools and coating foil. We recommend using an iron-on foil to coat the model. There is no electronics in the package, so you need to buy an AC motor, propeller, regulator, battery and 6 mini servos and a 6+ channel RC kit.

Accessories for normal operation
For normal operation of flying RC models, you need suitable adhesives, a set of tools and a case for storing LiPol batteries. From our range we recommend a quality set of Allen screwdrivers 1.5 / 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0mm and Modelcraft Phillips screwdrivers (set of 6). The Modelcraft mini pliers in a case (set) and a Modelcraft cutting knife with an A6 washer will certainly be suitable for assembly.
For quick repair of aircraft models, we recommend the fast-curing 4-minute Epoxy adhesive. From our offer we recommend Speed Epoxy 4 min. 71g
Protective covers for batteries
Protective covers are designed to reduce the risk associated with transporting and charging batteries. LiPo batteries can, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity. The LiPo battery is prone to mechanical damage and therefore needs to be thoroughly protected.
The construction of wooden aircraft models is a traditional and oldest technology used in their production. Wood is an affordable and inexpensive material, it is flexible, light and extremely durable. The structure can be repaired in case of damage. Beam rails are most often used, most often spruce and pine, the basic building material is balsa and various types of plywood. Beech, ash or shoulder blocks, linden, etc. can be used for strength parts.
GLUING OF WOODEN COMPONENTS
The plan is laid on a flat wooden worktop made of soft wood (laťovku), on the plan it is necessary to lay a transparent foil that will protect the plan from adhesives. For gluing, we use model pins which fix the components in the exact position. Conventional gluing of wooden parts is glued with dispersion PVA glue or Speedbond PVA glue to wood, which have the advantage of slow drying, so there is enough time to assemble the structure. The glued structure can be removed the next day after gluing.
STRENGTH ADHESIVE
During construction, there are several structural units that need to be glued with adhesives that resist higher stress, are resistant to chemicals, water, etc. The best known are 2-component Epoxy adhesives, supplied in a smaller package Speed Epoxy II 4 min 28g, in a larger package Speed Epoxy II 20 min 224g and for extra high strength Fusion two-component high-strength glue 75ml.
FAST ADHESIVE
When working, it is sometimes necessary to use fast and firm bonding of components, for which second cyanoacrylate adhesives are excellent.
Gluing aids
Our hands are not enough everywhere, and when assembling a large number of parts separately, various types of clamps are a welcome help. Modelcraft model stiffener 50mm, Modelcraft parallel clamp 50mm, Modelcraft nylon clamps 75mm and 50mm (3 + 6pcs) or Modelcraft flexible multifunctional clamp small (2pcs)
Cutting tools
When working with different materials, you need knives, saws, scissors and a lot of other tools. Modeling tools and pad
For precise cutting, gluing of parts and also as table protection, we recommend the Modelcraft modeling cutter A3 and safety ruler.
Coating foils
The fastest and most effective surface treatment of wooden models is the coating with iron-on foil. IronOnFilm Not only is it possible to choose from a whole range of color shades, but it also solves the skeleton's resistance to weathering, color and shape stability, easy repairability and speed when completing the model. To work, you need a model iron, a sharp model knife and scissors.
