    RC model kit of rocket aircraft Opel Sander RAK 1 Kit. The real plane was designed and built by Julius Hatry on the order of Fritz von Opel, who flew with him on September 30, 1929 in front of spectators at Rebstock Airport near Frankfurt. RC model from Klima with a span of 1900mm uses to drive 4 to 8 rocket engines D3-P. After the engines burn out, the model is operated as a glider by means of an RC set. Electronics and rocket motors are not included.

    The Opel Sander is one of the highlights of a rocket modeler and is a challenge for builders and pilots. Relatively large span allows the model to fly even at greater distances. For flying it is necessary to have experience with the control of RC aircraft models, because the model is managed all the time from the start using rocket engines to landing. Installation of RC equipment consists of mounting the receiver, servos and battery. Servos control the ailerons, elevator and rudder. Before a rocket-powered flight, the model needs to be balanced and flown.

    Difficulty of building a rocket

    Estes level 5 model kits are the earliest semi-scale models of real missiles. These rockets require the highest level of modeling , from rocket construction to final dyeing. Assembly is very demanding. The parts are processed with unique technologies for wood and paper processing. The result is a rocket with museum properties suitable for exhibitions, which is an exceptional model. Construction may take several weeks.

    It is necessary to paint the assembled model - we recommend using acrylic spray paints. You can buy spray paints from us or in paint and varnish shops. Information on the construction and launch can be found in this article.
