The SCX10 III Base Camp Kit allows you to build your own RC car model. The kit is intended for all fans of off-road expeditions, overcoming obstacles and rock trials, who are mainly looking for top driving characteristics at an affordable price. Custom construction and fitting of the component ensures that you don't pay anything extra that you won't use.
For tech enthusiasts, there is no better way than to build your own RC model car. The assembly process will make you an expert in its construction and a professional in maintenance and possible tuning. In addition, you infuse the model with your own style by individually equipping it with bodywork, wheels, electronics and drivetrain, according to your preferences.
The Axial Base Camp Kit is not just an unassembled version of the RTR. This is an improved version! The LCXU gearbox includes a special feature for DIG (rear axle locking) crawlers. Suspension rods are 6 mm stainless steel. Furthermore, AR45 direct axles are newly used.
The unassembled chassis Axial SCX10 III Base Camp Builder's Kit gives you the perfect foundation for your adventure - the proven SCX10 III chassis with steel profiles, optimized suspension with oil shock absorbers, intuitive steering and a robust drivetrain.
A durable, realistically machined chassis with steel C profiles reduces frame bending and increases the precision of suspension movement. A wide variety of body styles of different styles can be installed on the chassis.
The LCXU transmission can provide standard 4WD, or when using the optional servo, DIG can be used to lock the rear axle.
In addition to all-metal internal gears for strength and durability, the LCXU transmission is also equipped with a full set of ball bearings for a smooth and efficient ride.
The kit includes the standard AR45 straight axles found on most off-road vehicles. However, the design of the LCXU transmission makes it easy to transition from standard axles to the optional gantry axles.
Suspension features 6mm stainless steel tie rods and full metal ball studs for off-road durability. The adjustable oil-filled shocks have threaded and nut aluminum bodies for easy spring preload adjustment.
The suspension ball joints are made of stainless steel, for long life and riding in dry and wet conditions.
The metal Panhard suspension bracket is normally supplied as a tuning part, but with this kit it is already included in the package.
By activating the function, you can disconnect and connect the rear axle remotely via the transmitter. The rear axle is thus either driven or locked and the wheels do not turn. By locking the rear wheels, you radically increase the turning radius and turn the model almost on the spot. You will also appreciate the DIG function on steep descents, when it reduces the risk of the model tipping over.

Transport the RC model comfortably and safely in the Robitronic transport bag. The bag is waterproof and has an elasticated edge that can be adjusted to the model. Thanks to the Velcro strap, the model is easy to carry. The synthetic material can be easily cleaned with water or soap suds if necessary.
For a breathtaking appearance, we recommend equipping the model with LED lighting. If the model already contains basic lighting, you can expand, improve or modify it according to your own needs.
For the normal operation of the Axial RC car, you need tire glue, screw glue, a tool kit and silicone shock oil. We recommend an affordable tool kit for RC cars from our range.
Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. We recommend Robitronic Tire Glue from our offer.
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the shock absorbers of the model and change the oil in the differentials. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. Repair kits or individual parts are supplied for these cases.
For routine maintenance, screw glue is needed. Screws screwed into the metal material (e.g. screws in the motor, worm gear in the pinion) must be secured against loosening with this glue.
Protective packaging is intended to limit the risk associated with the transport and charging of accumulators. LiPo accumulators can, while maintaining small dimensions and low weight, provide high discharge currents and have a large capacity for a long driving time. Conversely, the LiPo battery is especially susceptible to mechanical damage.
