With our new 3D aerobatic motor glider TWISTY you will be able to have a real blast on the flat and on the slope. It does not only have large control surfaces, as is usual with 3D models; it does not only have a floating elevator, but it also turns the entire half of the wing to achieve unrivaled maneuverability! TWISTY is at home on mountain slopes, seaside cliffs or dunes, where it can really show off in strong regular winds. So that you can enjoy it even where the hills have not grown much and the wind is only blowing gently, we have added a powerful brushless motor with a folding propeller.
The fuselage of the model is made of highly durable EPO foam (extruded polyolefin) with thorough internal carbon reinforcements. A C2820-1450 AC electric motor with a 7x6" folding propeller and a KAVAN R-20SB Plus controller are installed in the nose. The cabin cover is removable, fastened with a pin in the front and a mechanical lock in the back. In the nose you will find enough space for the drive battery and receiver. Microservos with metal gears for controlling the wing halves, rudders and elevators are stored in the space under the wing. The tail surfaces are controlled by cable lines, the wing halves by adjustable rods with ball pins.
The model's EPO foam wing is a two-piece, carbon-reinforced wing. The wing halves slide onto a carbon tube connector and are secured in place with screws. They are independently controlled by two servos with short straight wire rods; for easy neutral adjustment, there are triangular marks on the fuselage indicating the center position of the trailing edge.
The tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam, reinforced with carbon. The horizontal tail surface is floating, its halves are slid onto a carbon tube connector and secured with screws. For easy adjustment of the neutral position, there are triangular marks on the fuselage indicating the center position of the elevator leading edge.
The model is powered by a C2820-1450 brushless motor with a 20A KAVAN R-20SB Plus regulator.
For power, you will need a three-cell LiPo with a capacity of approximately 1300 mAh and a load capacity of at least 30C. Choose the specific type so that the correct center of gravity position works out best for you without further weighing.
To control the model, you will need at least a six-channel computer RC kit that allows independent control of the wing halves (ailerons) with two servos and to increase maneuverability ("squarer" turns) it has a mix of elevator -> flaperons (camber). Of course, the manual includes a thorough table with proven default settings for rudder deflections (including mixes) to easily prepare Twisty for flight.
ARF set includes: finished fuselage, wing and tail surfaces made of EPO foam with installed engine, propeller, controller and 4 servos, instructions.
