Model airplanes are usually created as miniatures of real, "grown-up" airplanes. But our designers started from the forest - they watered, dug and treated the popular Der Kleine FALKE model with 100% biological means for so long that it grew to a span of 1800 mm and became the high-performance thermal RC glider FALKE 1800.
The front part of the model's fuselage is made of highly durable EPO (extruded polyolefin) foam; the tail beam is made of carbon tube. A C2714-1450 alternating current electric motor with a 7x6" folding propeller and a KAVAN R-20B regulator with a BEC power stabilizer is installed in the bow. The cabin cover is removable, fixed with a pin at the front and a magnet at the back. In the bow you will find enough space for the drive battery and receiver. The rudder and elevator servos are stored in the fuselage under the wing, the rudders are controlled by cables.
The model's EPO foam wing is two-piece with a carbon spar and steel wire link; it is attached to the hull with two plastic screws. The ailerons are controlled independently by two servos with short straight wire rods.
The removable butterfly tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam and are attached to the fuselage with a plastic screw.
The model is powered by a C2714-1450 AC motor with a 20A KAVAN R-20B regulator.
For power, you will need a three-cell LiPo with a capacity of 1200-1600 mAh with a load capacity of at least 20C. Choose the specific type so that the correct position of the center of gravity works best for you without further importation.
To control the model in an emergency, you can also use a four-channel RC set with a mix for butterfly tail surfaces - in the basic design, the ailerons are connected to only one channel using a Y-cable. The ideal is, of course, to use at least a six-channel computer RC set allowing independent control of the ailerons by two servos and their mixing in the role of an aerodynamic brake (both ailerons deflect upward in agreement), which even the affordable Radiolink AT9S or AT10II or Futaba T6K or T10J can do today. In this case, it is necessary to replace the Y-cable of the ailerons in the fuselage with two (15-30 cm) extension cables. Of course, the manual includes a thorough table with proven default settings for rudder deflections (including mixes) so that you can easily prepare the FALKE for flight.
ARF set includes: finished fuselage, wing and tail surfaces from EPO foam with installed engine, propeller, governor and 4 servos, instructions.
