    "Adult" ASW 17 produced in the first half of the 70's by the traditional German wind company Alexander Schleicher GmbH & Co. is a typical modern high-performance composite single-seat glider with a span of 20 m. in 1977 or a speed of 133.24 km / h on a triangular line 1250 km).

    The ASW 17 model from FMS, made of almost unbreakable extruded polyolefin foam (EPO), boasts a span of 2500 mm! Large dimensions, attractive appearance, excellent flight characteristics - simply the ideal large recreational model for anyone who has already mastered the piloting of two-meter EPO gliders.

    The fuselage of the model made of EPO foam is supplied with a mounted AC motor with a rotating casing (C3541-KV750), a tilting propeller, fitted with a 40A AC regulator and rudder and elevator servos. In the front of the fuselage, under a large removable cab cover, there is space for batteries and on-board electronics. For ASW-éčko you will need Li-poly four-cells 2200-2600 mAh with a load capacity of 35C. The rudder and elevator are controlled by a servo mounted on the tail of the fuselage. The wing, also made of EPO foam with a carbon beam, is two-part, pushed on the side onto the duralumin coupling. The ailerons and flaps are always controlled by two servos mounted in the wing. The landing gear consists of a single-track landing gear with a half-recessed main wheel and a small spur wheel. The ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevator and engine speed are controlled.

    To control the model, you will need at least a six-channel RC kit - in which case both aileron and flap servos are connected to one channel using Y-cables (included in the kit). When connecting the receiver, follow the operating instructions of your RC kit. It is ideal if you have at least a seven-channel computer RC kit, which allows independent control of aileron and flap servos. In this case, you can set the aileron deflection differentiation; for a start, we recommend 50% - ie the deflection of the aileron down is half compared to the deflection upwards. Especially for easier landing on a slope, it is advantageous to mix the ailerons as aerodynamic brakes (tilt them up).
