More information about the original product:

What the Ford T was to automobile transportation, the Piper J-3 Cub is to sports aviation. Of course, there is a major difference: Mr. Ford used to say, "You can have a Ford T in any color as long as it's black," while the motto Mr. Piper was, "You can have a Piper Cub in any color as long as it's yellow." Over 3,000 J-3s were produced from 1937 until the US entry into the war, with the arrival of military orders that required the yellow to be replaced with olive, the production rate increased to one L-4 Grasshoper (as the Army designation was) every 20 minutes .

Semi-maquette of the legendary American high-wing sports plane of classic all-balsa construction for propulsion by a 7.5-10 cc two-stroke engine, 8-12 cc four-stroke engine or an AXI 4120 class electric motor for slightly advanced pilots.

The hull is a classic balsa and light plywood construction with a removable laminate engine cover. The internal combustion engine is mounted on an adjustable plastic bed anchored to a plywood engine bulkhead, which is part of the solid box "core" of the fuselage. It also has space for a fuel tank. For the installation of the electric motor in the rear assembly, an additional motor partition with spacer posts is supplied in the kit. The cabin is model-equipped, accessible through an opening door. The rudder, elevator and throttle servos are located on the bottom of the cabin in a space accessible through a removable cover on the underside of the fuselage. additional covers on the lower part of the bow serve as an access hole for storing the propulsion accumulator. The rudders are controlled by cables with robust wire rods.

The two-part wing with the Clark-Y profile has a classic construction with a rigid torsion box cover. The wing halves slide from the side onto the tubular duralumin coupling and secure with screws. The wing struts are fixed with screws. The ailerons are controlled independently by two servos with short straight wire rods.

The tail surfaces are classic all-balsa construction.

The undercarriage with a steerable wire spur coupled to the rudder has duralumin main legs.

The model is coated with Oracover iron-on film

You will need at least a four-channel RC set to control the model; at least a five-channel computerized RC kit allowing independent control of the ailerons is ideal. A high-quality standard servo with a pull of 3-5 kg.cm will do, for the tail surfaces it is better to use a stronger 5-7 kg.cm servo.

Kit includes: built and coated fuselage, sprayed laminate engine cover, finished wing struts, built and coated wings and tail surfaces, duralumin landing gear, accessory kit, wheels, stickers and pictorial instructions
