The Spektrum™ Smart Powerstage™ package is a one-box solution for 3S LiPo powered RC aircraft. The kit includes the Spektrum Smart S155 1x55W AC charger with SMART technology, IC3/IC5 output, color LCD display, and the Spektrum Smart G2 LiPo 11.1V 2200mAh 50C IC3 battery.

Comparing Smart G2 battery cells is just as easy. The S155 Smart G2 charger compares the individual cells of your Smart G2 LiPo battery via a single data cable after connecting it using the IC connector you will use for charging. The charger electronics immediately recognize the correct charging parameters for the connected SMART battery and initiate a safe and correct charge.

To make charging as convenient as possible, the Spektrum™ S155 Smart G2 AC Charger features a color LCD display with improved menus, icons, and navigation tools. Its intuitive interface allows users to monitor charging progress and easily make settings changes. An on-screen clock shows the remaining time required to recharge the battery.

When it's time to update the charger's firmware, it's easy too. The USB input port is conveniently located on the front of the case. No special cables are required. Other useful features of the Spektrum S155 Smart G2 AC charger include a sleep mode and a detachable power cord.

The Spektrum™ S155 Smart G2 AC Charger features IC3® and IC5® output connectors. Use the slider above the connectors to select IC3® or IC5® and you can immediately charge your battery with up to 5A of current and up to 55W of power. You can charge and balance your Smart G2 batteries with just one connection to the IC3® or IC5® connector. No balancer cable required!

Better user interface

To provide the best overview of the menu, the S1400 G2 charger features a color LCD display and a user-friendly interface with improved menus, icons and navigation tools. For maximum safety, simplicity and ease of charging, the new automatic charging function recognizes the parameters for charging SMART batteries, as soon as you connect the battery, the charger automatically starts the correct charge.

The S155 Smart G2 AC charger handles up to 4S LiPo, LiFe, Li-Ion or LiHV batteries, as well as 1-12S NiMH and NiCd packs (use Smart batteries to take advantage of all charger features). Its sleek and robust casing fits well on your workbench. The power cable is detachable for easy storage and transport.

The Spektrum Smart G2 LiPo 11.1V 2200mAh 50C IC3 is a new generation of batteries without a balancer connector, with an IC3 data cable. A Spektrum™ Smart charger is required. An integrated microchip stores the unique parameters of each battery, Smart technology for easy charging.

Spektrum Smart version G2 introduces a new generation of LiPo batteries for aircraft and car models. The basic concept is a battery without a classic balancer connector, with only one IC3/IC5 series connector, while the voltage comparison of individual cells is handled by the SMART battery and charger electronics and a single-core data cable, which is part of the IC connector. The cooperating electronics of the battery and charger can provide the user with information that is important for assessing the quality of the battery, i.e. the condition of individual cells and storing the history of a specific battery in the charger. The use of faster automatic discharge up to 1.5 A for safe storage voltage will save you time.

Users benefit from a number of benefits when using Spektrum™ Smart G2 LiPo batteries. With Smart technology and new “Generation 2” features, these LiPo battery packs are even easier and safer to use with your Smart charger.

Smart G2 batteries are factory programmed to automatically adjust to a safe storage voltage of 3.9V per cell after 72 hours of inactivity. This will ensure your battery lasts longer, performing better throughout the life of the battery. You can override the automatic Storage setting with a Smart charger. G2 batteries also offer a faster Storage discharge rate, which is three times faster than the previous G1 Smart battery.

The Smart G2 Soft Case LiPo packs also feature internal metal side plates. These plates improve heat dissipation and provide greater protection for the cells from punctures during rough landings or in the event of an impact.

As with other Smart batteries, you don’t need to set your own charging preferences for the Spektrum™ Smart G2 unless you want to change the parameters. When a Smart G2 LiPo battery is connected to a Spektrum™ Smart charger, its unique charging parameters and health information are loaded into the charger from an integrated memory microchip. You can view and set preferences, such as current, through the charger, so all you need to do to charge the battery is connect it to your SMART charger. SMART technology does the rest.

Connection and charging only via IC connector

When connected to a Spektrum™ Smart Charger, the Smart G2 battery’s unique battery parameters, health, and cell information are automatically uploaded from its memory microchip via the IC3® or IC5® connector data wire. To charge the battery, simply connect it to the Smart Charger. Safe charging begins automatically, and no separate balance cable is required.

Data available

An integrated microchip allows each Smart G2 battery to store vital information such as battery type, cell condition and number, capacity, number of charge cycles, number of discharge cycles, C-rating, battery temperature and internal resistance. Additionally, each battery stores a log of abnormal events such as overcharge, overdischarge and overheating.

Automatic Smart Storage setup

Spektrum™ Smart G2 batteries virtually take care of themselves, being factory programmed to automatically adjust the cell voltage to a safe storage voltage of 3.9V after 72 hours of inactivity. The result is longer battery life, better performance throughout the battery's life. The user can change the settings via the charger and turn off automatic storage.

Simply and quickly

Preset charging, discharging, and storage parameters are automatically transferred from the Spektrum™ Smart G2 battery to your Smart charger, making charging as easy as plugging in the battery. The charging speed of each pack can also be customized by the user, allowing you to take full advantage of the faster charging capabilities of the packs. The battery’s integrated microchip remembers the last charge speed setting, so the next time you plug in, those settings are automatically loaded.

IC3® and IC5® connectors

Spektrum™ IC3® and IC5® Smart Connectors have been designed to provide a stronger connection, higher thermal resistance, and ease of installation. IC connectors are also backward compatible with EC connectors, so you can use Smart batteries with older systems. Smart G2 batteries can only be charged with Smart chargers.
