Characteristics

Spektrum Smart PowerStage G2 Air 2 is a set of LiPo battery 11.1V 4000 mAh 30C IC3 and Spektrum Smart S120 20W USB-C charger. Smart G2 technology package with safe and very easy charging for RC model airplanes.

The new Spektrum Smart S120 charger offers very simple and safe charging of Smart LiPo and Smart NiMH batteries. The charger is powered from any USB source, after connecting the battery, the charger automatically adjusts optimally and starts charging the battery. High charging power of up to 20 W.

The charger is intended exclusively for Smart LiPo batteries 2 to 3 cells. The charger is powered in a modern way - via the USB-C connector from a USB source. Standard 5 V sources can be used as a USB source, however, to achieve a charging power of 20 W, it is necessary to use a source supporting Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 Network universal USB adapter QC3.0 18W, which are commonly used nowadays to power e.g. phones, tablets , mini computers or similar electronics. In this case, the maximum charging current is 2 A with a power limitation of 20 W.

The charging status is clearly indicated by a multi-colored LED. When the battery is charged, the LED lights up green.

• The charger supports the following USB sources: 5 V / 1 A; 5 V / 2 A; 5 V 3 A; 9 to 12 V / 2 A.
  

Note: You can only use the full performance with sources supporting Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 - to achieve a reasonable charging time, it is therefore necessary to use a USB source compatible with this system. Nowadays, this is already a common standard. The charger is not compatible with ordinary "non-Smart" batteries.

Spektrum Smart G2 battery support

The charger includes the latest update that allows charging and enjoying all the functions of the new Spektrum Smart G2 batteries. G2 batteries no longer contain a service (balance) connector, which makes their use even easier and safer.

You can upgrade previously sold chargers to the Smart G2 via a standard micro USB cable. Instructions for updating can be found in the article - Updating Spektrum chargers on G2.

You need a USB adapter for operation. To take full advantage of the charging power, use a USB source with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
