Original information:
This large twin-engine aircraft was built for the US Air Force as a ground support machine and anti-tank mission. In spite of its heavy armor and armament, the A-10 is very handy, which is particularly important for overcoming enemy anti-aircraft fire. The Thunderbolt (also known as "Warthog") was essentially built around its impressive 30mm GAU-8 cannon that can easily break through the tough casing of the tank also thanks to special, high-throughput cartridges. This aircraft has been widely used, for example, during the Gulf War, when it successfully destroyed several hundred Iraqi vehicles with only minimal losses, despite the heavy defense of the enemy in conventional and rocket firepower. In the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, the A-10 was enhanced to the "C" standard to cope with new and more demanding operational needs. The A-10C is in fact the most advanced version of this robust and reliable assault aircraft that can use even the most advanced weapon systems and targeting systems.
