Characteristics

Do you drive your car model in extreme conditions? Get the Spektrum DX6 Rugged DSMR 2.4GHz transmitter for tough off-road conditions. Tared thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) bumpers surround the transmitter housing and protect it from drops, impacts and mud. 6 channels, backlit LCD display, telemetry, integrated USB-C port, robust steering wheel and lever for thumb control, internal antenna, carabiner ring and other conveniences. Intuitive software goes without saying. Like its predecessor, the DX5 Rugged, it features excellent ergonomics. The result is a top-of-the-line RC system with unmatched durability and other innovative features that combine precision, versatility and comfort you won't want to ride without.

Molded Polyurethane (TPU) perimeter strips on the bottom and top of the transmitter housing protect the transmitter from unwanted shocks and moisture resistance has been increased to a large extent. The transmitter can be hung on a strap, the loop on the top of the transmitter is used for this purpose, and you can therefore hang the transmitter around your neck. There is even a box for small tools on the side of the transmitter. The water resistance of the internal electronics wires and the entire transmitter housing has been increased.

The Spektrum DX6 Rugged steering wheel RC transmitter has several auxiliary switches for lights, winches and other functions. An innovative touch control panel is used to move through the transmitter's menu, which offers greater resistance to moisture and dirt. Simply move your finger to the control panel and tap to select from the menu. You can read the values on the easy-to-read backlit LCD display . Integrated telemetry (the model must be equipped with a receiver enabling telemetry operation) allows you to display important data in real time, such as engine speed, vehicle speed, battery voltage and temperature directly on the transmitter. Additionally, the integrated USB-C port provides seamless firmware updates for continuous functionality.

DSMR modulation

The DSMR modulation principle is similar to the DSMX modulation now used by Spektrum airborne transmitters. Signal transmission takes place in a spread spectrum, spread by direct pseudorandom sequence modulation (DSSS - Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum). Only DSSS makes it possible to correctly demodulate the signal even if another device is transmitting on the given channel (Wireless networks WiFi, BlueTooth, ...). DSMR uses 23 randomly selected channels from a total of 80 channels for transmission, between which it jumps pseudo-randomly. Each transmitter has a different selection of 23 channels and a different pseudo-random sequence. This method ensures the best possible resistance to interference from both foreign Spektrum transmitters and other devices operating in the same 2.4 GHz band. The advantage of DSMR modulation is that it can be used for ship control.

The Spektrum DX6 Rugged RC transmitter has an impressive list of available mixes for all kinds of applications, not just racing. In addition to user-defined mixes, the transmitter comes with preset mixes that include dual throttle, dual brakes, MOA 4-wheel steering, and dual steering. Mixes can be switched, activated and edited. The transmitter's menu is clear and intuitive, so if you have basic experience with transmitters, you will need the manual only minimally. An aggressive off-road style steering wheel extends its robustness. It also features an innovative thumb lever that makes one-handed vehicle control safer and more precise.

Updated menu control interface

The new interface allows tapping instead of swiping. This makes the control panel much easier to use and the sensitivity can be easily adjusted in the transmitter programming. This new interface has also been designed to work flawlessly in different environments.

New backlit display

The DX6 Rugged's new backlit LCD display helps users easily navigate the intuitive software in any setting. The display is excellent for tracking and setting up the transmitter in the dark, and it also excels in sunlight.

Unrivaled durability

The design of the transmitter is based on the excellent ergonomics of the Spektrum transmitters, to which the protection of the transmitter against shock, moisture and dirt has been added. The result is a shock-absorbing, rubberized transmitter housing edge design that wraps around the transmitter chassis, creating a level of protection never before offered in a steering wheel transmitter.

Proven ergonomics

The ergonomically proven Spektrum DX5 Pro and DX5C transmitters found their way into the Spektrum DX5 and DX6 Rugged transmitter concept. You therefore have the opportunity to feel the anti-slip handle in your hand, which is pleasant to hold, the robust steering wheel and the logically arranged auxiliary switches. In addition, the transmitter is light and easy to handle.

Safety strut

To increase the rigidity of the transmitter housing, a reinforcement was inserted in the front part of the transmitter between the base and the upper body. This prevents the handle from breaking or cracking and also allows users to use it creatively, e.g. to attach additional elements such as flashlights or cameras.

One-hand control

A completely new Spektrum feature is the ability to control the transmitter with only one hand. For example, if you need to take a picture of the car while driving and you don't have a colleague with a camera at hand, you can use a special steering lever to drive, which you will control with your thumb and the throttle with your index finger. This frees up your other hand to take the necessary picture.

Easily programmable

Programming the DX6 Rugged is simple. The intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate the menu and quickly change settings. You won't need a manual for most of the programming functions, the transmitter's menu is organized logically and clearly. In addition, the integrated USB-C port ensures trouble-free firmware updates.

AVC® (Active Vehicle Control™) programming

The DX6 Rugged enables the customization of the AVC system by providing access to dedicated adjustments. AVC technology uses sensors to correct the steering and throttle at the same time, the result is a smoother ride, stable behavior on the level and in corners and a safer track.
