The Smart system consists of a compatible Spektrum transmitter, a Smart receiver, a Smart controller, or a Smart battery.
The controller is controlled by a modern 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller. The controller reads information about the type, temperature and voltage of the battery cells directly from the Smart battery via the data cable. So you no longer need any sensors or modules, everything simply goes together. The information will be displayed on the transmitter display (it is necessary to have a 2nd generation Spectrum transmitter with current firmware (Spectrum DX5C, DX5R, DX5 Pro, DX6R).
An amazing innovation is the very simple connections, which is a key issue, especially for RC car models. Data transfer from the Smart battery to the controller is via one data wire, which is part of the IC3 connector. Data is transmitted to the receiver via the SRXL2 protocol. Spektrum Firma controllers are, of course, backward compatible with a classic PWM signal, so you can also operate the controller on a classic PWM output, but without telemetry data transmission.

Using the Smart programming box, you can easily change the controller settings to better suit your requirements. An easy-to-use Smart Link application for computers is also available. The application allows you to update the firmware and other detailed settings. The controller is connected to the computer via a programming box.
