E-flite 4-Site 0.8m is a typical representative of indoor RC models with flat parts made of EPP. Suitable for 3D acrobatic, sports and slow flying indoors and outdoors. This biplane has a shorter span compared to the popular E-flite Eratix model, but an overall larger wing area with lower surface load for greater maneuverability. Assembly is extra easy, thanks to the latch system. Almost immediately after assembly and adjustment, you can start flying, just add/purchase a 3S LiPo 11.1V 850–1000mAh battery and a Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 transmitter. Spektrum electronics and drive are installed. This BNF version includes a Spektrum receiver with an AS3X+ electronic stabilization system and SAFE.
The receiver in the model includes a function to upload settings from the receiver to the transmitter (Smart Transmitter File), which makes setup easy and takes seconds.
The E-flite® 4-Site 3D FF (Flat Foamy) 800mm builds on the original F3P and UMX models and is a biplane alternative to the hugely popular Eratix 3D FF. It’s perfect for experienced pilots who already have experience with flat foam models, for intermediate pilots who are interested in them but don’t want to bother with the complexities of building them, and even for less experienced flyers who have always wanted to try one but have been put off by the difficulty of building and the uncertain flight characteristics of home-built models. That’s why the 4-Site 3D FF is the most maneuverable, easiest-to-build, and most affordable indoor biplane yet!
The lightweight and extremely durable EPP airframe is factory-assembled, just snap the finished parts together and screw in the locking screws. The rudders are controlled by three durable servos with metal gears. The propulsion system includes a powerful brushless motor for aerobatic maneuvers and vertical thrust. The Spektrum Avian Smart Lite 70A controller supports telemetry via a compatible receiver (including the AR631+, included in the package) and a transmitter equipped with Spektrum AirWare (sold separately). The AR631+ receiver is equipped with advanced AS3X+ features and optional SAFE Select protection. The RC model aircraft is small and light enough to fly in gyms and halls, or outside in the garden, parks and sports fields.
Skill Level 2 aircraft like this are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and skill with similar class models. Although the 4-Site 3D FF is easier to assemble and fly than other indoor models, it is not at all suitable for beginners or as a first aerobatic/3D model. You should have the experience and skill needed to successfully fly aerobatic models such as the E-flite UMX Ultrix, UMX Timber X, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Sportix 1.1m, Timber X 1.2m, or other models in a similar class before attempting to fly the 4-Site 3D FF.
The exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite controller provides a full range of real-time telemetry data, including motor RPM, current draw, flight battery voltage and more, via the Smart receiver and compatible Spektrum transmitters equipped with Spektrum AirWare™ technology (DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and more). In addition, the receiver comes preloaded with a model file that allows you to import all settings into your NX and iX series transmitters during pairing.
This BNF Basic version features Spektrum's exclusive AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. The enhanced AS3X+ technology works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence, providing even better performance as if you were flying a much larger aircraft. The optional SAFE Select offers pitch and roll limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch! The SAFE feature is optional and may not be required for more experienced pilots.
Like other indoor models made of board materials, the 4-Site is capable of slow flight, sporty basic aerobatics and even aggressive 3D flying - all in one flight! It offers both a relaxed flying and an adrenaline-pumping flight experience, intermediate to experienced pilots will appreciate whether flying indoors in gyms or outdoors in meadows, parks, sports fields, etc.
The installed brushless motor with optimal parameters provides the model with more than enough thrust for unlimited vertical and 3D performance with LiPo 3S batteries! Use an 850 mAh LiPo battery to keep the weight low or up to a 1000 mAh LiPo battery for longer flight times.
Unlike other similar flat foam models that are sold as kits without power and control components, the 4-Site FF comes factory-assembled with a motor, ESC, servos and receiver installed (BNF Basic version). All you have to do is complete the quick and easy final assembly with screws, snaps - no glue, tape or special tools - and you'll be ready to fly in less time than you can charge your batteries!
Thanks to the carbon fiber construction and high-density EPP reinforced composite, a lightweight yet rigid and durable airframe has been created. In the unfortunate event that you damage any part of the airframe, repair is relatively easy. A wide range of spare parts are also available.
The Spektrum receiver is equipped with AS3X+ technology, which helps stabilize the model in flight. The receiver contains a three-axis MEMS gyro and accelerometer, and thanks to electronic stabilization , the control of the model is simplified , for example in windy weather. The model reacts similarly to a much larger model and its flight is calm while maintaining its full controllability. AS3X+ brings more confidence in control.
The AS3X+ stabilization algorithm creates better flight performance, improves sensor accuracy and data rate, and provides pilots with a generational different feel compared to the AS3X. The new AS3X+ parameters and new Forward Programming settings make it the easiest all-round stabilization system to use. It features a significantly improved algorithm that has been thoroughly tested by experts.
Thanks to the SAFE Select technology, even a less experienced pilot can control the model . The SAFE system prevents over-banking in turns and also limits climb and descent. Simply releasing the controller's control sticks returns the model to level flight. These functions will be appreciated especially by novice pilots who are not yet fully confident in controlling the models.
As the name SAFE Select suggests, it is an optional feature - it is up to you whether you want to use or disable SAFE technology. The pairing method determines whether the SAFE function should be enabled or disabled. It is also possible to disable or enable the SAFE function during flight using a free transmitter channel.
To get started, you need a Spektrum 5-7+ channel DSM2/DSMX transmitter, a 3S–4S 2200-3200mAh LiPo battery with IC3 / EC3 connector, and a compatible charger.
