A new generation of programmable microprocessor controllers for brushless, sensorless AC motors, designed using the latest semiconductor technology with excellent performance while maintaining very simple and user-friendly operation. It is used to control the speed of AC electric motors in recreational aircraft models when powered by NiCd/NiMH and LiPo/Li-ion batteries. The controller is equipped with a powerful switched-mode power stabilizer BEC, which provides power to the receiver and servos from the drive battery. A special Hobbywing LED programming box, which is supplied separately, is used to easily set up the controller.

DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

• The controller is equipped with a high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor with a clock frequency of up to 96 MHz.
• DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) optimized control technology significantly improves throttle response and power stage control efficiency, reduces the controller temperature.
• Suitable for the vast majority of aircraft brushless motors powered by 2-4S LiPo batteries.
• For power supply from NiCd, NiMH, LiPo, Li-ion batteries
• Powerful switching power stabilizer BEC 5.0 V with a load capacity of up to 3 A.
• Adjustable timing for optimal adaptation to the given motor.
• Adjustable PCO circuit - disconnecting the motor when the supply voltage drops.
• Normal/Soft/Very soft start modes are suitable for motors with direct drive and gearbox.
• Safe start-up (prevents the motor from starting when turned on).
• A number of protection functions: start-up protection, controller thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, overload protection, overcurrent protection, abnormal supply voltage protection and control signal loss protection effectively extend the life of the controller.
• A special programming cable for connecting the controller to the Hobbywing LED programming box allows the user to program the controller anytime and anywhere.
• Gas range calibration for perfect adaptation to the control signal from your RC kit.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS

• Brake type: Brake off, normal brake (with braking intensity adjustable in 3 levels), reversing (allows you to turn on the engine's reverse operation using an additional channel with a switch, the engine's reverse speed is controlled by the throttle controller), linear reversing (allows you to turn on the engine's reverse operation using an additional channel with a proportional controller, with which the engine's reverse speed is controlled).
• Brake strength: The braking intensity is adjustable to 60, 90 or 100% for the "Normal brake" mode.
• Motor disconnection method: Soft shutdown: The controller gradually reduces the power to 60% of full power within 3 seconds after voltage protection is activated. Hard shutdown: The motor is immediately shut down.
• Number of LiPo cells: We recommend setting manually for 100% reliable voltage protection function. The controller automatically calculates the number of cells of the connected battery according to the rule of "3.7 V per cell" if you choose automatic detection.
• Voltage protection: The voltage protection threshold level is adjustable to 2.8 V/cell, 3.0 V/cell or 3.4 V/cell; the protection can also be turned off completely.
• Start-up: Normal start-up (instant start-up), Soft start-up (with slow start for engines with large propellers, gearbox or smaller blowers), Very soft start-up (with very slow start for engines with large propellers, gearbox or blowers from 90 mm).
• Timing: Adjustable to 5, 15 or 25°.
• DEO idle: This feature can be turned on or off; it can bring better linearity or smoother throttle response.
• Search mode: Can help in finding a model that has landed in obscure terrain - the controller, with throttle pulled to zero for preset time, causes the engine to beep.

CONTROLLER PROTECTION FUNCTIONS

• Start-up protection: If the engine does not start within 2 seconds after the throttle is applied, the controller will shut down the engine.
• Thermal protection: If the temperature of the controller exceeds 120°C, the controller will limit the output power to 60% (if the soft shutdown is set) or shut down the engine completely (if the hard shutdown is set).
• Loss of throttle signal: The controller will limit the power if the signal is missing for 1 second; a signal missing for more than 2 seconds will cause the engine to shut down completely.
• Overload protection: The controller will shut down the motor or restart automatically when the load suddenly increases to a very high value.
• Voltage protection: When the drive battery voltage drops below the set threshold level, the controller's voltage protection will be triggered. The controller will limit the output power to 60% (if the motor soft shutdown is set) or completely shut down the motor (if the hard shutdown is set).
• Abnormal supply voltage protection: If the drive battery voltage is not within the allowable range for the controller, the abnormal supply voltage protection will be triggered; the controller will signal the warning by beeping the motor.

Tip: When turning on the controller for the first time, first calibrate the throttle range according to the instructions. Only then can the controller be used and other parameters set using the transmitter or LED programming box.
