The Traxxas XRT 8S 1:6 scale RC car model combines excellent race-inspired design and construction with the performance and power of the legendary X-Maxx. The result is a completely new off-road car platform with sharp handling and high stability, which is even faster with the new super powerful VXL-8S drive , reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h as standard!
A model designed for the maximum driving experience of all competitors. It has a low center of gravity, wide wheel track and top components for extreme performance. The chassis is nylon with modular construction and integrated damper mounts. The construction is based on the X-Maxx model and is highly impact resistant. The all-metal drivetrain consists of a "Cush Drive" shock absorber, front, center and rear differentials, an aluminum center shaft, steel half-axles and dual-bearing wheel hubs.
The model is powered by a specially adapted new VXL-8S regulator with sharper characteristics and a powerful Velineon 1200XL AC motor. The Traxxas TQi programmable transmitter allows the addition of a Bluetooth module (sold separately) for the ability to connect the model to a mobile phone and display telemetry data such as driving speed or engine speed.
For convenient model preparation, the body is clipless, with easy assembly and disassembly. The batteries are secured in the compartments by a partition with a latch. It is a responsive, fast and convenient battery replacement system.
The modular design allows disassembly of the complete front or rear part. In a few minutes you have full access to easy service and model settings. The modularity of the car chassis significantly simplifies maintenance, it makes it much easier to get to the differentials, etc.
The chassis of the model is made of a composite molding, which, thanks to its spatial concept, is very rigid and at the same time light. This construction allows it to absorb hard impacts without permanent damage. From the bottom, the chassis is protected by three sliding plates, which can be easily replaced in case of damage.
The model uses proven technology that integrates the damper tower directly into the chassis, which ensures exceptional strength and durability. In addition, during an impact, the energy is distributed into the chassis structure and dampened.
The suspension arms are made from the most durable composite material Traxxas uses. The front bumper and the rear wing holder have an ingenious design with an absorption zone in the event of an impact.
Massive GTX shocks are precisely designed and tuned for this big model. They consist of an aluminum, colored anodized body, solid steel piston rods with ball pins, massive springs and precise sealing X-rings. For proper operation, shock absorbers are filled with oil of optimal viscosity.
The Dual-Bellcrank steering system ensures quick and precise steering response. The cam servo saver is located in the upper part of the column and protects the steering from impacts.
Four bolts with a locking pin firmly hold the motor in place and define the exact gap between the teeth at a given gear ratio. The engine is equipped with a radiator with two fans to maintain the correct operating temperature even under full load.
The Traxxas XRT 8S remote control car model includes two compartments on the sides of the chassis to accommodate two LiPol 4S batteries. The position at the bottom of the compartments keeps the center of gravity low.
The XRT RC car model uses an all-metal drivetrain, adopted and rigorously tested, from the X-Maxx model. The differential boxes are also the same for faultless bearing support.
The innovative Cush drive system uses a special part equipped with elastomer silent blocks to absorb the shock of the engine. The system replaces the friction clutch and enables a more efficient and reliable drive without complex adjustments.
To distribute the power of the 4x4 drive, the model is equipped with a front, central and rear differential. The center differential uses a very thick 20M cSt oil to use full power without slipping under lightning acceleration. The axle differentials are fitted with four metal gears for durability and long life.
The transmission of power between the axles is realized by an aluminum central drive shaft with splines. Innovative sealing keeps dust and dirt out of the center tunnel.
Robust steel drive shafts with splined output from the differential safely transfer the full power of the engine to the wheels. Thanks to the parallel joint design (CV), the shafts have a smooth operation in every suspension position.
The new high-strength weights feature large encapsulated ball bearings and are a compatible upgrade for the X-Maxx model. (#7832, #7836, #7852)
The large 3.8" racing rims have a matte black finish, a large 24mm carrier (slotted hex) and a 17mm aluminum lock nut for secure locking on the hub shaft. Gravix tires are designed for excellent performance both on the track and off-road. The strong center shell reduces bulging when high speed.
Patented clip-free body mounting is easy, fast, and the clips do not disturb the clean look of the model.
The body is a reinforced frame on the inside for durability.
The roof skids protect the body against scratches when the model is overturned.

Control is implemented using a robust, digital Traxxas servo - TRA2085. The maxi size servo has a moment of 26 kg.cm, a speed of 0.16 s/60°. Nylon gears. Double ball bearing on the milled shaft, for precise operation. Waterproof* construction. Effective cooling of the servo is ensured by a central cooler.
The powerful, AC sensorless Velineon 1200XL motor provides, thanks to the 4-pole design, very smooth operation. Excellent heat dissipation is ensured by the metal body of the motor. Gold plated 6.5mm connectors, 1275kV and 5mm output shaft.
The RC car model is equipped with a specially tuned VXL-8S (T) electronic AC controller. Input voltage 4, 6 or 8 LiPo cells (max. 33.6 V). Simple one-button setup. Status indication by LEDs. The Traxxas Link App is a powerful application that gives you complete control over the operation and tuning of your Traxxas RC model with stunning visualization and absolute accuracy of settings. Traxxas Link can display telemetry data that the model provides in real time, such as speed, RPM, temperature, battery voltage and model roll. (Telemetry provided varies by specific model type). You can share settings of RC models, you can create any number of profiles for a specific track or users, e.g. children. All in the app with the brilliant graphics that come naturally from Traxxas.
Telemetry options vary by model. It may be necessary to install telemetry sensors to obtain telemetry data. Compatible telemetry parts with this model can be found in the "Accessories - Telemetry" section. More information on telemetry installation here.
An exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurement. Using a wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, it is possible to monitor speed, engine speed and battery voltage in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and no additional sensors are required.
The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) stability system allows you to experience not only power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speed, but also guarantees much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow.
The receiver has a MEMS 3-axis gyro and an accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model on the order of 100 times per second and corrects the model's direction of travel by appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over engine power. Algorithms are tuned for each model separately. The level of assistance is set using the multi-function controller on the transmitter or possibly in the Traxxas Link application.

To operate the model, you need 4x AA batteries for the transmitter, 2x drive accumulator and a charger for the drive accumulators.
The model can be operated on a pair of 4-cell LiPo batteries.

By adding a Bluetooth module to the transmitter, you get the function of wireless connection of the RC model with the Traxxas Link application, which you can install on your phone for free. We recommend a phone holder for attaching the phone to the transmitter.
A clear graphic application enables simple model settings. The telemetry provided by the model can also be viewed in the application. Telemetry options for specific models are listed in our Traxxas RC Models Telemetry blog.
For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need bolt glue, good quality tire glue, silicone shock oil and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable set of tools for cars from our range.
The thread or head of the screw is dripped with screw glue, which fixes it and the vibrations caused by driving prevent the screw joint from loosening. The screw adhesive has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with an adequate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary instant glue, it might be impossible to loosen a screw stuck like this!
Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!
Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the dampers of the model. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. For these cases, so-called repair kits are supplied. In the range of tuning parts, piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating are delivered to all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN surface are easily recognized by their golden-green color.
