When Curtis Pitts designed and built a small acrobatic biplane in 1943 and 1944, he had no idea that he was creating a legendary machine that would rule competitions in most of the world for decades - and will be manufactured to this day. And not only to produce, but also to build home-made kits at home or even just according to plans. The most famous era was the 60's and 70's, when the little Pitts shared it with our Zlín at the acrobatic championships. The arrival of the Zlín "fifty" and then other super-bred specials also meant the end of the Pitts' success in the Unlimited category - but they still score in the lower classes. However, when it comes to elegance of appearance and flight expression, today's acrobatic specials do not reach the Pitts even to the lower edge of the "boots" on the chassis.
The new, well-designed Pitts Special pushes the EPP acrobatic models up a class again - where we used to have a combustion "ten", now the AC motor powered by a six-cell LiPo battery is now satisfied!
The fuselage of the EPO s foam model is supplied with a mounted AC motor with a rotating casing (C4258-460) with a 15x9 "propeller, equipped with a 50 A AC regulator with a powerful switching power stabilizer, Reflex V2 stabilization unit and rudder and elevator servos. Easy access to the on-board electronics and the drive battery are guaranteed by a removable cab cover with a magnetic lock.
EPO foam wings with a semi-symmetrical profile are two-part with carbon pipe couplings. The lower to the fuselage is fastened from below with bolts, the upper is carried on a system of struts and also fastened with bolts to the canopy struts; the intermediate wing struts have mechanical latches for sand assembly and disassembly. The ailerons are controlled by two servos mounted in the wing, the ailerons on the lower and upper wings are connected by wire rods. Before connecting the tie rods, we recommend "moving" the rudders by repeated careful deflection up and down resp. left and right.
The tail surfaces are made of EPO, the rudder and elevator are controlled by servos stored in the cabin using wire rods.
The chassis is wire with plastic covers, the spur is rotatable, coupled to the rudder.
For the model you will need Li-poly six cells (or 2 three cells connected in series) 3700-4000 mAh with a load capacity of at least 35C.
To control the model, you will need at least a four-channel RC kit, the advantage will of course be the owners of multi-channel computer kits that allow individual adjustment and tuning of the aileron servos. The ailerons, rudder, elevator and engine speed are controlled. Piloting is facilitated by the installed Reflex V2 stabilization unit.
The ARF set includes: an almost finished model with an AC motor, propeller, 50A speed controller, Reflex V2 stabilization unit, 4 servos, a set of accessories and instructions.
