RC airplane model in retro style, Marabu 6 with a wingspan of 2.3m Kit as a kit to assemble. It can be built as a glider in the thermals without propulsion, either on a slope in light winds or launched with a tow or gimmick. You can also equip the model with an electric drive. The wooden kit is intended for beginners and more advanced. The Marabu 6 is a true retro model and the construction dates back to the early 1970s.

The design was taken from the original plan, the construction was adapted as much as possible to today's production standards. The floating elevator and the two-piece wing allow the model to be transported very easily. The wing is tied to the fuselage with rubber rings. This will prevent damage to the model in case of rough landings. The kit and flight characteristics of the model are suitable even for beginners! The Marabu 6 is particularly suitable for thermal flights after a tow-line launch or a rubber-and-line launch. The profile used is CR001SM, which is optically very similar to the original from the 1970s, but is 7.3% thinner. This means that the originally very pleasant slow flight characteristics of the model are preserved and it can also be used for excellent circling in thermals. The model is entirely made of wood. The construction instructions are structured in such a way that the individual construction steps are presented in the manual in a comprehensible manner in pictures.

The Marabu 6 has controlled elevator and rudder, the V-shaped wingspan ensures stable flight and adequate response to flight direction control. The wing is split in half and slides onto the wire connectors, the floating elevator also slides onto the connecting wires. The servos of the tail surfaces are in the middle part of the fuselage under the wing, the rods lead to the rudders. The choice of electric drive must be decided before construction, the engine bed must be installed and the front part of the hull must be modified. Engine recommended by the manufacturer. The cabin is made of wood sanded with balsa.

The Marabu 6 Kit is a kit containing material for building the skeleton of the model. Covering material and electronic or drive components are not part of the kit, you need glue and modeling tools and accessories for construction. A three-channel RC kit is enough for control.
Building model airplanes from wood is a traditional and oldest technology used in their production. Wood is an available and cheap material, it is flexible, light and extremely durable. The structure can be easily repaired in case of damage. As a material, slats for beams are used, most often spruce, pine, the basic building material is balsa and various types of plywood. You can use beech, ash or ramen, linden, etc. for strength parts.

GLUING WOODEN PARTS
The plan is placed on a flat wooden worktop made of soft wood (lath), a transparent film must be placed on the plan to protect the plan from adhesives. For gluing, we use modeling pins that fix the parts in the exact position. Conventional gluing of wooden parts is done with dispersion PVA glue or Super Phatic wood glue, which have the advantage of slow drying, so there is enough time to assemble the structure. The glued structure can be removed the next day after gluing.

BONDING STRENGTH
During construction, there are several construction nodes that need to be glued with glues that withstand higher stress, are resistant to chemicals, water, etc. The most famous are 2-component epoxy glues, they come in a smaller package Speed Epoxy II 4 min 28g, in a larger package Speed Epoxy II 4 min 224g and for extra high strength Fusion two-component high strength glue 75ml.

Protective covers for accumulators
