Clear varnish for gluing covering papers and canvases and treating the porous surface of wood ("pore filler"). For application by brush or roller.
Application: As a rule, it is applied undiluted (if necessary, use KAVAN Thinner STANDARD); apply to the frame with a soft flat brush or roller. Immediately press and smooth the backing paper or canvas; remove any air bubbles with a brush or roller. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours and sand with fine 600-1000 grit sandpaper. When used on a model with an internal combustion engine, it is necessary to apply a fuel-resistant topcoat (e.g. KAV56.9990 KAVAN topcoat POLY, 5MA4401 RC Color colorless spray paint).
Removing excess undried varnish: A cloth or paper napkin moistened with KAVAN STANDARD Thinner.
Lacquer dilution: Lacquer is supplied in a concentrated form, depending on the need and method of application, it can be diluted with KAVAN STANDARD thinner in any ratio to achieve the optimal consistency for application. Due to the different composition of the lacquer and solvent components, we do not recommend using the KAVAN CLASSIC series thinner.
Suitable for: modeling covering papers and textiles, e.g. Vlies, covering cloths, balsa and other woods.
Not suitable for: materials not resistant to organic solvents (foamed polystyrene, etc.).
Addition of model weight: 10 ml of undiluted varnish adds about 0.8 g to the weight of the model.
Storage: In tightly closed packaging, in a cool, dry and dark place (at a temperature of 15°C to 25°C). Do not expose to temperatures below 5°C and in no case to frost.
Durability: If the conditions of proper storage are observed, we guarantee a shelf life in the original, unopened package for 1 year while maintaining the above-mentioned product properties.
