The Spektrum Smart Firma 160A V2 3S - 8S Black Edition regulator with an aluminum cooler and fan offers a perfect overview of the state of your drive unit. You can have revs, temperature, battery voltage and capacity available via real-time telemetry, without additional sensors! Adjustable powerful BEC, over current protection.

Spektrum Smart alternating regulators for RC car models with Smart technology offer a perfect overview of the state of your drive unit. Current, temperature, battery voltage, engine speed and more are available through real-time telemetry, without additional sensors! Smart technology ensures that all of your model's electronics will work together seamlessly for maximum visibility and performance. It offers information on the status of each system component, increasing your confidence in its capabilities and making the entire drive system easy to use. The Smart system consists of a compatible Spektrum steering wheel transmitter, a Smart receiver, a Smart controller, or a Smart battery.

The controller is controlled by a modern 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller. The controller reads information about the type, temperature and voltage of the battery cells directly from the Smart battery via the data cable. So you no longer need any sensors or modules, everything simply goes together. The information will be displayed on the transmitter display (it is necessary to have a Spektrum 2nd generation transmitter with current firmware (Spektrum DX5C, DX5R, DX5 Pro, DX6R).

Data transfer over one wire

The transfer of data from the Smart battery to the controller is realized through one data wire, which is part of the Spektrum IC3/IC5 connectors. Data is transmitted to the receiver using the SRXL2 protocol and directly to your transmitter in real time, including rpm, voltage, temperature, balance, capacity and speed.

Smart LiPol battery

If you use a Spektrum™ Smart battery, the Firma™ controller gives you the benefit of battery telemetry, all data is automatically transmitted to your compatible Spektrum transmitter in real time. The display of the transmitter will show you useful information such as the number of cycles, battery percentage, voltage of individual cells and more!

Wide programming options

Thanks to many adjustable parameters, you can adjust the behavior of the controller according to your requirements. Spektrum Firma controllers can be programmed using the SET button on the controller, using a programming card (order no. SPMXCA200) or using a Spektrum 2nd generation transmitter with a display with a receiver supporting the Spektrum SRXL2 protocol.

IC5/EC5 connector compatibility

The controllers are equipped with battery connectors of the IC5 series. When used with a Spektrum Smart battery equipped with an IC3 or IC5 connector, the controller can receive and transmit battery telemetry data. EC5 connectors are backward compatible with IC5 connectors, but you will lose the ability to load data from the accumulator.

Wide programming options

Thanks to many adjustable parameters, you can adjust the behavior of the controller according to your requirements. Spektrum Firma controllers can be programmed in the following ways:

• Using the SET button on the controller.
  
• Using a programming card (order no. SPMXCA200).
  
• Using a Spektrum 2nd generation transmitter with a display (it is necessary to have sufficiently new firmware in the transmitter and to have a controller connected to the receiver that supports the Spektrum SRXL2 protocol).
  
• Using a computer and the Spektrum Smart Link app (the controller connects to the computer via the SPMXCA200 programming card. The app also allows you to update the controller's firmware.
