Characteristics
The Copperhead 1415 2400rpm AC Sensor Motor Controller for 1:10 Scale RC Car Models is an ideal choice for those who want an AC sensor motor in their model. Thanks to the sensor AC motor and the most modern controller electronics, you get high performance, acceleration and smooth operation even at low speeds. The regulator has a very powerful BEC circuit and it is possible to power powerful servos with high torque with it. A completely new controller design was created for medium-demanding users. The regulator is placed between the Sidewinder 4 and the extremely powerful Mamba X.
The revolutionary CRYO-DRIVE technology increases the efficiency and lowers the temperature of the electronics. Supply voltage for this 3S-4S LiPo combo . The BEC can be adjusted to 5.5 V or 7.5 V and can handle a current of 6A at its best.
Recommended use
Construction
The electronics of the controller are housed in a robust body and covered with waterproof epoxy. This system minimizes the risk of water ingress to the electronics and promotes efficient heat transfer. Modified heatsink finning maximizes airflow from the 30mm fan. The fan is not waterproof and can be dismantled when used in a wet environment. The regulator is also equipped with gold-plated connectors for connecting the motor, an LED indicator and a switch with a rubber cover (against the ingress of dirt). The power input cables are tinned, it depends on you which connector you have in the model.
Cryo-Drive technology
The biggest losses occur during switching on and off of the power transistors. Castle Creations has developed a brand new software that reduces the switching frequency of power transistors. The result is a radical reduction of heat losses in both the regulator and the motor itself, an increase in efficiency and, ultimately, an increase in driving time.
SmartSense technology
SmartSense™ mode uses engine sensors to start the engine and ensures smooth starts, excellent torque and low-rpm controllability. Once the motor spins, it smoothly transitions into efficient sensorless mode. This will deliver more power to the model instead of wasting the heat and power that is dissipated.
Programming options
The controller can be set via the transmitter (basic settings), Castle Link USB adapter, Castle field Link or B-Link Bluetooth.
Only basic parameters can be set via the transmitter. Complete settings can be made via Castle Link USB adapter or Castle field Link.
DATA LOG Lite from driving and sound signaling
The regulator allows you to record basic data - battery voltage, temperature of the regulator and engine, engine speed. After the end of the race or during test drives, you can view this data on the computer and evaluate it. While not the full version of the data logging features that the Mamba X Extreme 1:10 has, these parameters are an excellent source of information for maximizing performance and battery life
The controller also supports sound signaling. With the help of sound signals, you can easily recognize what is happening with the controller.
Telemetry for transmitters
By connecting the Telemetry Link Spektrum XBUS telemetry adapter (sold separately), you get complete controller telemetry that can be viewed on Spektrum transmitters. You get the same function for Futaba transmitters by purchasing the Telemetry Link Futaba S.BUS2 adapter. The function must be enabled via the Castle Link program.

Construction of AC motors Castle
The advantage of Castle AC motors is particularly high efficiency and, when using a sensor regulator , smooth running from zero rpm . Sensor motors can therefore be recommended for fast and slow-moving models, such as crawlers or expedition RC car models.
The stator (the fixed outer part of the motor) is composed of mutually insulated iron sheets of thickness. The stator winding is impregnated against the action of moisture and is defined by a special potting compound. The terminals of the winding are formed by massive tapes.
The rotor (rotating inner part of the motor) is made of a hardened steel shaft in which neodymium magnets are glued. To increase strength, the rotor is wrapped with Kevlar fabric and a two-component adhesive. Another set of 4 magnets is used to measure the rotor position. The rotor is defined between the bearings by a ring-shaped leaf spring.
There are high-quality ball bearings in the aluminum fronts, Hall sensors for sensing the position of the rotor and a temperature sensor for measuring the internal temperature of the motor are attached to the rear face.
