The OMP HOBBY M5 is a high-performance "550" class helicopter designed to meet the requirements of pilots who are just starting out with large helicopters, sport pilots, modelers and 3D fighters when installing the appropriate engine and electronics. The M5 was designed with an emphasis on minimizing inertial moments in all three axes, which, together with the main and tail rotor control system with a large range of deflections, offers incredible control authority and maneuverability. A number of solutions fully proven in the "bigger and older brother" M7 were used.
The M5 allows for the installation of a wide range of motors and electronics, so straight out of the box or with the use of tuning parts, it easily meets the requirements of seasoned 3D pilots and allows the use of their most popular and thoroughly tested equipment.
Recommended main rotor blades: carbon 550-580 mm.
Recommended balancing rotor blades: carbon 93-96 mm.
Recommended RC kit: computer-based, at least 6 channels, with a heli program.
Recommended swashplate servos: Mini size (15 mm) - e.g. MKS HV9767, KAVAN GO-1035MG.
Recommended yaw/tail rotor servo: Mini size - e.g. MKS HV9780, KAVAN GO-11T46MG.
Flybarless control unit: e.g. Futaba CGY770R, CGY760R, CGY755, Bavarian Demon BD 3X, BD AXON, etc.
Suitable motor: 4520 series brushless motor with rotating casing (stator diameter 45 mm) with approx. 1100KV for 6S, 850KV for 8S, 550KV for 12S LiPo. E.g. Sunnysky M4520R 1120/840/550KV.
Suitable controller for sport flying: Brushless for helicopters 130-160A, e.g. Hobbywing Platinum PRO 130A-HV V4, Platinum PRO 130A-HV Opto V4, etc.
