The new generation of programmable microprocessor controllers for brushless, sensorless brushless motors for large and giant recreational and sport aircraft models powered by Li-poly / Li-ion / Li-Fe batteries. Compared to previous generations of FLYFUN controllers, the programming options have been expanded to include a number of features that have proved their worth with the top Platinum controllers. The design of the controller takes into account the high long-term load capacity and durability required in giant models. The controller is equipped with a powerful switching power supply BEC with an optional output voltage to provide power to the receiver and servos (normal and HV) from the driving battery. A special Hobbywing LED programming box is available for easy adjustment of the controller.
REGULATOR DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS
- Controller equipped with high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor with clock speed up to 72 MHz; is compatible with most AC motors.
- Suitable for the vast majority of aircraft AC motors powered by 3-6S LiPo / Li-ion / LiFe batteries.
- Special microprocessor power stabilizer for high immunity to interference and reduced risk of loss of control.
- DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) technology significantly improves gas response and power efficiency, reducing the temperature of the controller.
- Powerful switching power supply BEC output voltage adjustable to 5.2, 6.0 or 7.4 V. BEC is separate from other circuits of the controller, can maintain proper function even when burning the power board with MOSFET transistors controller.
- Normal / Soft / Very Soft start modes are suitable for normal propeller and fan models.
- Simple programming and setup with transmitter or Hobbywing LED programming box. < / li>
- A special programming cable for connecting the controller to the LED programming box allows the user to program the controller anytime and anywhere (for details, see the Hobbywing LED programming box operating instructions).
- Normal / Proportional / Reversing (especially reversing) brake modes can effectively shorten the range after landing.
- A number of protection functions: start-up protection, thermal protection of the controller, thermal protection of capacitors, overload protection, overcurrent protection, protection at abnormal supply voltage and protection against loss of control signal effectively extend the life of the controller.
- Calibrate the gas range to perfectly match the control signal from your RC kit.
PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS
- Brake Type: Brake Off, Normal Brake (with 7-level adjustable braking intensity), Proportional Brake (Controlled by throttle: 0-20% throttle deflection corresponds to 100-0% brake, 20-100% Controller deflection corresponds to 0-100 Reversing (allows to switch the reversing of the motor operation by means of another switch channel).
- Brake force: The braking intensity is adjustable from Level 1 to Level 7 for the "Normal brake" mode.
- Motor disconnection method: Soft shutdown: The controller gradually decreases the power to 50% of full power within 3 seconds after the voltage protection is activated. Hard shutdown: The engine is stopped immediately.
- Number of LiPo cells: It is recommended to set manually for 100% reliable voltage protection function. The controller automatically calculates the number of cells of the connected battery according to the rule "3.7 V per cell" if you select automatic detection.
- Voltage protection: The voltage protection threshold is adjustable between 2.8-3.8 V / cell; the protection can also be switched off completely.
- BEC Voltage: The BEC voltage of the power stabilizer is adjustable to 5.2V, 6.0V, or 7.4V.
- Start: Normal start (instant start), Soft start (slow start for large propeller, gearbox or smaller blower), Very soft start (very slow start for large propeller, gearbox or blower starting from 90 mm) < / li>
- Timing: Adjustable from 0-30 °.
- Direction of rotation: Clockwise / Counterclockwise.
- DEO freewheel: This function can be switched on or off; it can yield better linearity or a smoother gas response.
REGULATOR PROTECTION FUNCTIONS
- Start-up protection: The controller measures the motor speed during start-up. If the speed stops rising or the speed is not stable, the controller will evaluate this as an incorrect start. If at this point the gas is less than 15%, the controller will automatically attempt to restart the engine; if the throttle is more than 15%, you must pull the throttle control all the way down to restart the engine.
- Controller thermal protection: The motor will “stall” when the controller temperature exceeds 110 ° C, indicating that the thermal protection has been activated. If the throttle control is lowered below 60% at this point, the “stalling” disappears and the regulator delivers power corresponding to the gas position. If you move the gas above 60%, “stalling” reappears. The controller temperature at start-up must not exceed 70 ° C, otherwise the motor cannot be started.
- Protection against loss of gas signal: The controller immediately switches off the engine if the signal is missing for 0.25 seconds to prevent even greater damage and risks from a rapidly rotating rotor or propeller. As soon as a normal signal is received, the controller resumes normal operation.
- Overload protection: The controller stops the motor or restarts automatically when its load suddenly rises to a very high value.
- Overcurrent protection: The controller immediately switches off the motor if the peak current consumption exceeds the maximum allowed value; then resumes normal operation. If the current consumption then still exceeds the maximum allowable value, the motor is switched off completely.
Tip: When switching on the controller for the first time, first calibrate the gas range according to the instructions. Only then can the controller be used and other parameters set using a transmitter or LED programming card.
