Revolutionary chassis

The chassis of the Traxxas X-Maxx RC car is made of a composite molding, which, thanks to its spatial concept, is very rigid and at the same time light. As with other Traxxas RC cars, the chassis is modular, meaning it consists of a center section, a front section, and a rear section.

Modular design

The modular design allows the entire front and back to be removed. In just a few minutes, you have full access to easy service and model settings. The modularity of the chassis of the car simplifies maintenance, it is easy to get to the differentials, etc. In addition, in case of very severe accidents, you do not have to change the entire chassis of the model, but only the damaged part.

Shock absorbers

The massive X-Maxxu GTX shock absorbers have piston rods with a diameter of 5.2 mm and are made of high-strength steel. Attachment of shock absorbers to the arms and the tower is dual. All pins are made of 4 mm steel! Well-dimensioned three-dimensional shock absorber towers allow driving even in very difficult terrain.

Sharp steering

The Dual-Bellcrank steering system ensures quick and precise steering response. The cam servo saver is located in the upper part of the column and protects the steering from impacts.

Engine mount and radiator

Four bolts with a locking pin firmly hold the motor in place and define the exact gap between the teeth at a given gear ratio. The engine is equipped with a radiator with a fan to maintain the correct operating temperature even under full load.

Compartments for batteries

The Traxxas X-Maxx 8S remote control car model includes two compartments on the sides of the chassis to accommodate two LiPol 4S batteries. The position at the bottom of the compartments keeps the center of gravity low.

High off-road traction

The proven Sledgehammer tread pattern provides maximum traction on a variety of surfaces, especially rough terrain, gravel and grass.

Durability and stability

X-Maxx Sledgehammer ® tires feature a lightweight tread in the carcass that prevents bulging at high speeds for rock-solid confidence and stability.

Cush drive absorption system

The innovative Cush drive system uses a special part equipped with elastomer silent blocks to absorb the shock of the engine. The system replaces the friction clutch and enables a more efficient and reliable drive without complex adjustments.

Differentials

To distribute the power of the 4x4 drive, the model is equipped with a front, central and rear differential. The center differential uses a very thick 20M cSt oil to use full power without slipping under lightning acceleration. The axle differentials are fitted with four metal gears for durability and long life.

Center drive shaft

The transmission of power between the axles is realized by an aluminum central drive shaft with splines. Innovative sealing keeps dust and dirt out of the center tunnel.

Steel axles

Robust steel drive shafts with splined output from the differential safely transfer the full power of the engine to the wheels. Thanks to the parallel joint design (CV), the shafts have a smooth operation in every suspension position.

Hubs with bearings

The blocks contain large encapsulated ball bearings for smooth running and long-lasting performance.

Body

The new X-Maxx car body mounting system is a revolutionary novelty. The body is not fixed with clips, but with a special clip. This eliminates unsightly body mounts, removing the body is now a matter of seconds.

Servo steering

Control is implemented using a robust, digital servo Traxxas - TRA2085. The maxi size servo has a torque of 26 kg.cm, a speed of 0.16 s/60°. Nylon gears. Double ball bearing on the milled shaft, for precise operation. Waterproof* construction. Effective cooling of the servo is provided by a central cooler.

Powerful Velineon 1200XL AC motor

The powerful, AC sensorless Velineon 1200XL motor provides, thanks to the 4-pole design, very smooth operation. Excellent heat dissipation is ensured by the metal body of the motor. Gold plated 6.5mm connectors, 1275kV and 5mm output shaft.

VXL-8S regulator

The RC car model is equipped with a specially tuned VXL-8S electronic AC controller. Input voltage 4, 6 or 8 LiPo cells (max. 33.6 V). Simple one-button setup. Status indication by LEDs. Heat dissipation using a massive cooler and fan. Water-resistant* construction. Gold-plated connectors 6.5mm. 2-stage low voltage detection of LiPol batteries, thermal protection and overvoltage protection.

The regulator is equipped with a port for connecting original accessories, for example LED lighting.

Traxxas TQi receiver

RC receiver Traxxas TQi 5 channel. TSM with telemetry for Traxxas TQi transmitters. Simple operation, pairing with a button. LED status indication. They are in the receiver integrated 3-axis MEMS sensors for learning the position of the receiver.

The 5-channel receiver is also equipped with two connectors for connecting telemetry sensors RPM (revolutions) and V/T (voltage / temperature).

Furthermore, a telemetry expansion module can be connected to the 4-pin connector, into which you can connect up to 6 more sensors, including a very accurate GPS speed sensor.

Traxxas TQi RC kit with Bluetooth ready

Traxxas has prepared for you a completely new series of two-channel RC kits with Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth module (sold separately) will allow you to connect the RC model with the clear graphic application Traxxas Link, which you can install for free on your smartphone.

The Traxxas Link app for Apple devices is available for free on the AppStore , the app for Google Android devices is free on GooglePlay .

The Traxxas Link App is a powerful application that gives you complete control over the operation and tuning of your Traxxas RC model with stunning visualization and absolute accuracy of settings. Traxxas Link can display telemetry data that the model provides in real time, such as speed, RPM, temperature, battery voltage and model roll. (Telemetry provided varies by specific model type). You can share settings of RC models, you can create any number of profiles for a specific track or users, e.g. children. All in the app with the brilliant graphics that come naturally from Traxxas.

Real-time telemetry

An exclusive controller with advanced electronics is equipped for real-time telemetry measurement. Using the wireless Bluetooth module (sold separately) and the Traxxas link app, it is possible to monitor speed, engine speed and battery voltage in real time on your phone. The controller provides telemetry data and no additional sensors are required.

Traxxas Stability Management

The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) stability system allows you to experience not only power, speed, acceleration and cornering at extreme speed, but also guarantees much easier steering and control on slippery surfaces such as dust, smooth concrete or even ice and snow.

The receiver has a MEMS 3-axis gyro and an accelerometer, which evaluates the movement of the model on the order of 100 times per second and corrects the model's direction of travel by appropriate interventions in the steering of the front wheels. Traxxas TSM does not limit engine power - you have 100% control over engine power. Algorithms are tuned for each model separately. The level of assistance is set using the multi-function controller on the transmitter or possibly in the Traxxas Link application.

Automatic turned on wheels

The Self-righting function is activated remotely via the transmitter, by suddenly adding gas and braking, the model gradually swings and turns back onto its wheels.

The feature is ineffective when using fully charged 4S LiPo batteries.

Wireless connection with the phone

By adding a Bluetooth module to the transmitter, you get the function of wireless connection of the RC model with the Traxxas Link application, which you can install on your phone for free. We recommend a phone holder for attaching the phone to the transmitter.

LED lighting

A complete set of LED lighting will make your model a real gem. The lighting includes a front LED bar for the bumper, a rear multifunctional brake bar, a power module and mounting accessories.

LED lighting can be turned on/off and configured using the Traxxas Link mobile app. The optional TRA6511 Bluetooth module is required to connect the Traxxas Link app. More information can be found here.

Wider wheel track WideMaxx

The new WideMaxx kit, which is available in different color options, widens the wheel track by 60mm. The X-Maxx will thus be more stable and allow even more aggressive driving.

Servo 2085R

For maximum durability and performance in extreme driving, you can install the TRA2085R high torque metal gear tuning servo.

Stand

The aluminum swivel stand will be the perfect addition to your service table or display shelf. The stand facilitates the maintenance of the model and at the same time prevents the deformation (stretching) of the tires during long-term standing.

Work mat

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need bolt glue, good quality tire glue, silicone shock oil and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable set of tools for cars from our range.

The thread or head of the screw is dripped with screw glue, which fixes it and the vibrations caused by driving prevent the screw joint from loosening. The screw adhesive has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with an adequate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary instant glue, it might be impossible to loosen a screw stuck like this!

Tire glue is used to glue the tires to the disc rim. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly stuck to the wheel rim all the way around! If the tire is not glued all the way around, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, after hardening, the glue is flexible. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!

Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the dampers of the model. During normal operation, there are only slight leaks of silicone oil on the piston rods of the shock absorber. In the event that the surface of the damper pistons or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leakage may be large. So-called repair kits are supplied for these cases. In the range of tuning parts, piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating are delivered to all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN surface are easily recognized by their golden-green color.
