Installed Extreme Heavy Duty Kit

The factory-installed Extreme Heavy Duty suspension and drivetrain kit is made from the most durable materials used by Traxxas.

Clipless body

The unique body mounting system using beaks in the wheel arches allows for quick and easy battery replacement and the clean appearance of the model is not disturbed by the clips. Unlike traditional posts with clips, the body adheres to the clipless holder with a much larger surface area and does not crack.

Construction

The chassis is made of nylon, which is filled with glass fibers for greater strength and toughness. The chassis is spatially shaped to have high rigidity. The engine with gearbox and differential is located in the rear of the model. The drive system forms a compact, closed unit, which makes the Traxxas Rustler RC car model an undemanding model.

Gearbox, adjustable disc clutch and planetary differential

The gearbox, disc clutch and planetary differential are enclosed in one compact unit. The friction clutch gearbox reliably transfers engine power to the axles, the planetary gear of the Magnum 272™ differential has gears made of hardened steel. This system requires absolutely minimal maintenance. Pinions and gears with different numbers of teeth are available, so you can precisely tune your model for both speed and technical tracks.

Friction clutch

The Revo Spec Torque Control friction clutch ensures smooth power transmission and is adjustable. The correctly set slip rate protects the drivetrain while not reducing the model's acceleration.

Oil shock absorbers

High-stroke oil shock absorbers use dual X-rings for perfect sealing and perfect operation. The robust design combined with a high oil volume can absorb even hard impacts in difficult terrain. You can tune the shock absorbers to your liking by adjusting the springs and changing the oil viscosity.

Wheels and tires

The Rustler rides on aggressive chrome 6-spoke 2.8" wheels. The unique Alias tire rubber compound has high grip on a wide range of surfaces including dirt, grass, concrete and rocks. The rear tires with step-pin studs provide excellent traction in off-road conditions, while the front tires with grooves hold the road perfectly.

Steering servo

The Traxxas servo 2056 6.2kg.cm standard size digital servo waterproof with DC motor and nylon gears has a torque of 6.2 kg.cm and a speed of 0.20 s/60°@ 6.0 V. For water resistance*, the servo box is equipped with a seal.

Powerful Titan 12T motor

The car model is equipped with a modified Titan 550 12T DC motor. The motor has 30% more power than conventional 540 motors. The rotor at the rear of the motor contains a propeller that blows air into the motor and effectively cools it.

Traxxas XL 5 Electronic Controller

Waterproof* Traxxas XL-5 electronic controller with three driving modes, support for modern high-capacity LiPo batteries and easy control with the EZ-Set™ button. The XL-5 controller is equipped with a training mode, which limits full throttle to 50%. Thanks to this, novice drivers or children can gradually familiarize themselves with the model's features and prepare for the full power of the car. Thermal protection, gold-plated connectors and incredibly low internal resistance are the hallmarks of this controller.

XL 5 controller modes

• Sport: Default mode, forward, braking and reverse are possible.
  
• Race: A mode suitable for racing. Forward and brake are possible; reverse is not available.
  
• Training: A mode suitable for children or beginner riders. Forward driving is possible with a power limit of 50%, braking and reverse driving again with a power limit of 50%.
  

Traxxas TQ RC kit

The model is controlled by a two-channel proportional steering wheel RC transmitter Traxxas TQ, operating in the 2.4 GHz band - interference-free operation. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA batteries.

There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (so that the model drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The transmitter can be set to reverse the throttle and steering channels.

TQ Receiver

The three-channel Traxxas TQ 2.4 GHz receiver ensures safe control without interruptions. Easy pairing with one button. Status indication using an LED.

USB-C charger

The package includes a NiMH battery and a modern fully automatic 40W USB-C charger. The charger allows you to charge 6 to 7 cell NiMH batteries with a charging current of up to 4 A.

The USB-C charger can be powered by any USB adapter and connected with a USB-C cable. However, for full charging power, it is necessary to choose suitable components, see. recommended accessories.

Recommended power supply for the USB-C charger

Powering the USB-C charger from the mains requires a USB adapter and a USB-C cable for connection (adapter and cable are not included in the package). To use maximum charging power, it is necessary to choose sufficiently dimensioned components. We recommend:

Recommended replacement batteries

To extend the driving time, we recommend purchasing an additional battery. For regular driving and for children, we recommend purchasing another identical NiMH battery, which is included in the package. For maximum driving time and higher performance, you can use modern LiPo batteries. If you use different types of batteries, it is always necessary to set the type of connected battery on the controller!

Traxxas universal chargers can be used to charge batteries Traxxas LiPo and NiMH. (The charger included in the package is only intended for the NiMH battery included in the package.) Traxxas chargers represent a simple and safe way to charge batteries. Traxxas uses a unique iD system, thanks to which you are always sure that everything is connected simply and safely. LED lighting

Equip your model with a complete set of LED lighting for breathtaking driving day and night. Thanks to this lighting, your model will become a real gem. The high-brightness diodes are not only effective, but they provide a strong stream of light. The lighting also provides a better overview of the model's position.

Transport bag and backpack

Carry your RC model comfortably and safely in a Traxxas sports bag or backpack. In addition to the main large pocket for the model, there are specially designed side pockets for batteries, charger, tools, etc.

Stand

The aluminum rotating stand will be the perfect addition to your service table or display shelf. The stand makes model maintenance easier and at the same time prevents deformation (sag) of tires during long-term standing.

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of the Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, high-quality tire glue, silicone oil for shock absorbers and a set of screwdrivers. From our range, we recommend an affordable set of car tools.

Screw glue is dripped onto the thread or head of the screw, which fixes it and prevents vibrations caused by driving from loosening the screw connection. Screw glue has a special composition that allows easy loosening of the screw connection with an appropriate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary superglue, a screw glued in this way could be impossible to loosen at all!

Tire glue is used to glue tires to the rim of the disk. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may tear. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon, and at the same time, the glue is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary instant glue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks in the tire would gradually form around the rims!

Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are supplied for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily identified by their golden-green color.
