Switching power supply stabilizer BEC for powering the receiver and servo, which will find an excellent application:
- in electrically driven models with OPTO speed controller
- in glider models and models with internal combustion engine, where the classic receiver NiCd / NiMh 4- or 5-cell is replaced by a two-cell Li-poly or Li-Fe
- in electrolets whose controller does not have a sufficiently powerful built-in BEC for a larger number (stronger, digital, etc.) servos
The use of modern components and an optimized circuit solution guarantees the minimization of RC set interference at low weight and small stabilizer dimensions. The supply voltage in the range of 6-25 V allows UBEC to be used with up to a six-cell Li-poly battery. The output voltage (5.0 V, 5.5 V or 6.0 V) is selectable with a jumper. The operating states are indicated by an LED.
UBEC is equipped with protection against polarity reversal of the supply voltage (UBEC does not work if the polarity is incorrect).
USE OF UBEC
- Electrolyte with OPTO controller: Connect the UBEC directly to the outputs of the drive battery and connect the UBEC output connector to the battery socket (or other free servo socket) on the receiver.
- Connect the model with internal combustion engine or UBEC glider directly to the outputs of the battery and connect the UBEC output connector to the battery socket (or other free servo socket) on the receiver.
- Before connecting the UBEC , you must disconnect the red (+) wire in the servo cable of the controller to disable the built-in BEC. Otherwise, the UBEC connection is the same as in the case of the OPTO controller.
Tip: To reduce possible UBEC interference in the model, place it at least 5 cm away from the receiver. On models with FM or AM RC sets of 27, 35 or 40 MHz, it may be appropriate to provide the UBEC output cable with a ferrite ring.
