Small, fast and low

The Mini Slash brings a whole new way to experience the fun of a smaller, compact RC model, while retaining the power, speed and durability of the larger Maxx models, while adding the popular short course design. Its rugged construction is instantly recognizable and adds confidence to your wild ride.

BL-2S engine from larger models

The BL-2s brushless motor has already proven to deliver extreme power and torque in 1:10 scale models. In the Mini Slash, this motor is significantly oversized for the weight of the model, allowing it to accelerate lightning fast and reach a top speed of up to 48 km/h.

4WD drive in 1:10 scale

The Mini Slash is built to the standards of the larger models. Large differentials with steel gears, massive 32DP gearing and high-performance cardan drive shafts far exceed the requirements for strength and provide long service life.

Extended chassis

The robust chassis design retains the proven three-dimensional composite extrusion construction with hexagonal elements and integrated shock towers. The Mini chassis' wheelbase has been extended by 15mm to 235mm, providing greater stability and faithfully capturing the Slash's proportions.

Stapleless bodywork

The innovative clipless body mounting system is durable with internal reinforcements and easy to use. Simply place the body on the chassis and snap it in. When it's time to change the battery, press the latches in the wheel arches and lift it up to get inside the model in seconds.

Tubeless tires

The Mini Slash 4X4 features all-new licensed BFGoodrich ® Mud-Terrain™ TA ® KM3 tires for exceptional traction on most surfaces, which now feature internal ribs instead of the classic foam insert. So you can enjoy driving in wet conditions without worrying about the foam insert getting wet and deforming.

Modular construction

The modular design allows for the complete removal of the front or rear section. In a few minutes you have full access to easy service and adjustment of the model. The modularity of the car chassis significantly simplifies maintenance, making it much easier to access the differentials, etc.

Sliding plates

The underside of the chassis is protected by skid plates that can be easily replaced if damaged. The plates protect important drive components from damage while complementing the clean lines of the chassis, which will not get caught on obstacles.

Precise proportional control

The front wheel steering mechanism is implemented using the Dula-Bell-Crank system, which ensures precise operation of the linkages to the wheels and reduces the Bump steering effect. The steering has an integrated cam servo-saver that absorbs shocks and protects the servo against overload. For long service life, a standard size servo from 1:10 models is used.

Battery compartment

The battery is housed deep in the chassis for a low center of gravity and maximum protection. A latch system ensures easy and quick battery installation and removal.

Oil shock absorbers

The 1:10 high-travel oil shocks use dual X-rings for a perfect seal and smooth operation. The robust design combined with a high oil volume can absorb even hard impacts in rough terrain. You can tune the shocks to your liking by adjusting the springs and changing the viscosity of the shock oil.

Waterproof* construction

The model uses a number of patented solutions that reduce the risk of water ingress to the electronics, such as a servo box seal or epoxy-encapsulated controller electronics. This gives you the confidence to go for a ride regardless of the weather.

Suspension arms

The double wishbone suspension maintains proper geometry throughout the entire range of motion. It is designed to Maxx standards with more material in exposed areas.

Robust weight

The Mini Slash 4X4's robust suspension components are designed for high strength, significantly exceeding conventional models. The tie rods and tie rod holders are based on the full-size Maxx Slash model and feature an incredibly robust construction and double-studded steering knuckle.

Protective bumpers

Impact-absorbing protective bumpers at the front and rear. The extra-wide front bumper follows the shape of the body, providing full frontal protection with a high approach angle for easy overtaking.

Body bracket

The body is held firmly in place by a bracket that is part of the RC model's chassis. Even if the model is in somersaults, the body will not come loose from the model.

Inter-tooth clearance

A solid motor mounting system with pre-drilled holes according to the gear ratio eliminates the need to worry about setting the correct gear clearance. The gears always fit together precisely for maximum efficiency and long service life.

Robust gear teeth

The 32DP gear module is commonly used on larger models, providing individual teeth large enough and durable for the engine's performance and for the eventual upgrade to the even more powerful VLX-3S drive.

Transmission

The Mini Maxx features a direct-drive transmission to the center shaft for instant acceleration. An optional center differential (sold separately) can be installed to better distribute power between the front and rear axles.

Planetary differentials

The 4WD system distributes power to each wheel using front and rear planetary differentials. The differentials are twice as large as those in 1:16 models. Silicone seals and X-rings allow for fine-tuning of the degree of adhesion using silicone oils of varying viscosity.

Drive shafts

The drive shafts used in the Mini Maxx RC car model are 50% larger than the standard 1.16 models. The cardan joints and telescopic bodies are reinforced for quick starts and sharp braking, even with the possible upgrade to the VXL3-S drive

Ball bearings

Large ball bearings are used throughout the drive system for smooth operation. The bearings are equipped with a plastic cover to minimize dirt entry. This solution extends the life of the model and simplifies maintenance.

Wet tires

BFGoodrich ® Mud-Terrain™ TA ® KM3 tires are made with a new rubber compound that perfectly balances grip with wear resistance. Internal reinforcement ribs eliminate the use of conventional foam inserts, which can absorb water and disrupt the balance and shape of the tire. The rims include a 12mm hex hub.

Ready for VXL-3S

There is never enough power and if the factory speed is not enough, the model is ready to upgrade to a brushless motor and VXL-3S controller. With the supplied 2S LiPo battery, the speed of the VLX-3S drive would increase to 64 km/h and when operating on a 3S LiPo battery 2300 mAh up to 80 km/h. To install the VXL-3S controller, you must purchase the TRA10724 bracket. (The Velineon motor, VLX-3S controller and 3S battery are sold separately. The factory BL-2S drive cannot be operated on a 3S LiPo battery).

Power steering

The Traxxas servo 2056 6.2kg.cm standard size digital servo with DC motor and nylon gears has a torque of 6.2 kg.cm and a speed of 0.20 s/60°@ 6.0 V. The servo box is sealed for water resistance*.

3300kv brushless motor

The Traxxas 3300kv brushless motor provides the ideal affordable drive especially for 1:10 models with all the benefits of high performance, long life and minimal maintenance. The motor is equipped with a Quick Connect connector for easy connection. Other features include:

Electronic controller BL-2S

Waterproof* electronic BL-2S brushless controller with three driving modes, support for 2S LiPo batteries and easy control with the EZ-Set™ button. The controller is equipped with a training mode that limits full throttle to 50%. Thanks to this, novice drivers or children can gradually get acquainted with the characteristics of the model and prepare for the full power of the car. Thermal protection, protection against underdischarge of LiPo batteries, gold-plated connectors, simple operation, intuitive signaling with a two-color LED and a powerful radiator, which can be supplemented with an optional fan (not included in the package).

BL-2S controller modes

• Sport : Default mode, forward driving, braking and reverse driving are possible.

Traxxas TQ RC kit

The model is controlled by a Traxxas TQ two-channel proportional steering wheel RC transmitter, operating in the 2.4 GHz band - interference-free operation. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA batteries.

There is a rotary knob on the transmitter that trims the steering (so that the model drives straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery status in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The transmitter can be set to reverse on the throttle and steering channels.

TQ receiver

Traxxas TQ 2.4 GHz three-channel receiver ensures safe control without interruptions. Easy one-button pairing. Status indication via LED diode.

Battery and USB-C charger

The package includes a 2S LiPo 3500 mAh battery specially made for this model, which has small dimensions and a large capacity for long operation time. You can easily and safely charge the battery using the included USB-C charger. (For fast charging, you must have a sufficiently powerful USB source, see recommended purchase.)

Recommended power for USB-C charger

Powering the USB-C charger from the mains requires a USB adapter and a USB-C cable for connection (adapter and cable are not included in the package). To use maximum charging power, it is necessary to choose sufficiently dimensioned components. We recommend:

LED lighting

An optional lighting kit can be installed on the model to perfectly illuminate the road and give your model a unique look. The kit includes a roof light bar with white LEDs facing forward and rear light bars with red LEDs to improve orientation of the model's position. Plus a 3V power supply.

More powerful VXL-3S drive

The model can be upgraded to the extremely powerful VXL-3S AC drive. To install the VXL-3S controller, you must purchase the TRA10724 bracket.

3S LiPo battery

If you upgrade the model to the VXL-3S drive, this drive can be powered by a 3S LiPo 2300 mAh battery for maximum speed.

Accessories for normal operation

For normal operation of your Traxxas RC car, you need screw glue, quality tire glue, silicone shock absorber oil and a set of screwdrivers. We recommend an affordable car tool set from our range.

Screw glue is applied to the thread or head of the screw, which fixes it and prevents the vibrations caused by driving from loosening the screw connection. Screw glue has a special composition that allows the screw connection to be easily loosened with an appropriate torque without damaging the screw head. Never use ordinary superglue, a screw glued in this way may be impossible to loosen at all!

Tire glue is used to glue tires to the rim of the wheel. It is always necessary that the tire is firmly glued to the wheel rim around the entire circumference! If the tire is not glued around the entire circumference, it may burst. Tire glue has a special composition that is able to glue materials such as rubber or nylon and at the same time the glue is flexible after hardening. Never use ordinary superglue - it is not flexible after hardening and cracks would gradually form in the tire around the rims!

Sometimes it is necessary to add silicone oil to the model's shock absorbers. During normal operation, only slight silicone oil leaks occur along the shock absorber piston rods. If the surface of the shock absorber piston rods or the condition of the seals is in poor condition, the oil leak can be large. So-called repair kits are available for these cases. The tuning parts offer includes piston rods with an extremely hard TiN (titanium nitride) coating for all shock absorbers. Piston rods with a TiN coating can be easily recognized by their golden-green color.
