Extreme Flight Brushless Electric Motors are engineered to deliver the "stellar" performance of your 3D aerobatic aircraft. Stellar performance in Extreme Flight means the engine power ratio of 550 W per kilogram of model weight or higher. With the right choice, installation and proper setup, Extreme Flight engines will provide this performance reliably.
The Xpwr 40cc is ideal for driving 3D aerobatic models with a 5400-6800g flight weight, such as Extreme Flight with a 76-78 "(76" MXS, 78 "Extra) models.
Xpwr 40cc requires the use of a high-voltage (HV) electronic speed controller with a load capacity of at least 120 A, ideal for a 12S LiPo battery with a capacity of 4000-5200 mAh with a load capacity of at least 40C.
Propeller selection and operating temperature: As with internal combustion engines, cooling of AC motors is critical, especially if you are flying in hot weather. We recommend that you place the deflectors directing the airflow into the engine cover of your model directly to the engine. Also ensure the cooling air outlet holes of sufficient cross section (at least 2-3 times the cross section of the inlet holes). For maximum use of engine options, it is imperative not to guess, but really to measure - both current consumption and engine operating temperature. The maximum allowed operating temperature of the electric motor is 80 ° C (measured on its surface) - exceeding this value can quickly cause damage or complete destruction of the engine. The heating of the engine depends on its power load - the larger the propeller and the longer it is in full flight, the more the engine heats up. Recommended propeller dimensions are given in a range - the largest propeller is designed for 3D flying, where the full throttle is used briefly and intermittently. If you're flying in a sporty style where the engine runs full throttle or high performance for most flight time (classic acrobatics, warbird mock-ups, etc.)" , select the smallest recommended propeller. It is up to you not to allow the engine to overheat and to choose the propeller that matches your specific application and way of flying. Anyway, if you need to lower engine temperature, use a smaller propeller.
Recommended propellers with 12S LiPo: 20x10 ", 21x10", 21x12 ", 22x10"
Count on a peak current of 90 A with 3D flying with peak power of about 4100 W. Note: This applies to 3D flying where the use of full gas is intermittent.
The engine kit includes: Xpwr40cc engine, rear mount kit, instructions.
