The Kawasaki KX 250F is a liquid-cooled DOHC 249 cc (15.2 cu in) four-stroke single-stroke motocross motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki. The KX250F's first year was 2004 and it saw immediate success in Supercross and Motocross events capturing the East/West SX Championship as well as the MX National Title.

The 2006 model features an all-new aluminum perimeter frame, heavily revised engine, new Showa front and rear shocks, and Renthal handlebars. In 2008 the KX250F continued its reputation as a good bike and was highly regarded in all dirtbike shootouts.

For 2009, Kawasaki redesigned the KX250F with much more than a new look. These include numerous engine tweaks to increase power and save weight, suspension upgrades, including a titanium coating to reduce friction, and several chassis changes to help improve cornering and create an overall leaner feel.

In 2011, Kawasaki added two new features. The first was the Digital Fuel Injection (DFI) system. This system was similar to that found on the more powerful KX450F. This greatly improved engine response time and reduced landing hesitation after a jump. The second addition was the Showa Standalone Function Fork (SFF). These new forks reduced weight, improved performance and allowed for easier adjustability. A second fuel injector was added in 2012, increasing power over the 2011 model.

Kawasaki improved the KX250F again in 2013. They created a new look along with improvements to the fuel injection system and split performance forks.
