The 2016 FC450 features the most powerful Husqvarna motocross engine ever to bear the brand name. The engine, with a claimed 63 hp per crankshaft, comes from an all-new compact power unit that is 23 mm shorter, 23 mm narrower and 9 mm lower than the previous version. The redesign meant that every internal component had to be revised and relocated, but the process was worth it. An all-new chrome-moly frame, carbon fiber subframe and new cast aluminum swingarm reduce the weight of the whole package and are claimed to be stronger than ever. The aluminum Husky swingarm has also been redesigned. It is stiffer and at the same time more than half a kilo lighter than the previous swing. The FC450 uses an electric start system.
