Espargaró made his debut on a Repsol Honda motorcycle at the Qatar Grand Prix, finishing 8th in the first of two races and 12th in the second. He took several points finishes during the season, but the highlight was his fifth pole position at the 2021 British Grand Prix. Espargaró finished the season 12th in the championship on 100 points.
