    The Me 163 Komet rocket plane lacked the ability to taxi before takeoff and after landing, so it needed special ground equipment. A Scheuch-Schlepper tractor was used for these purposes. The origin of Scheuch-Schlepper was prosaic – brothers Rudolf and Eugen Scheuch developed it as an affordable agricultural machine. Scheuch was based in Erfurt and their Scheuch-Schlepper was developed in collaboration with Auto-Union, a branch of DKW-Einbau-Motoren. The Scheuch-Schlepper was used in two configurations: with the rear wheel attached to tow Comets that had a launch cart attached or in conjunction with a special recovery device to lift and then transport the Comets after landing.
    The kit of this interesting means of transport combines plastic parts, castings and etchings.
