Castle Creations' cutting edge Phoenix Edge 80 HV controller is designed for class 600 helicopters or giant aircraft. Power supply 3 to 12 LiPol batteries, max. Continuous current 80 A. For a good circuit of heat generated in transistors, the controller is equipped with a large heat sink on its circuit. The controller does not contain a BEC source.

Castle Creations' new Phoenix Edge controller family offers industry-leading software features, recording a variety of data that can be read and displayed on your PC using the Castle Link USB programmer. Edge controllers include special features for helicopters, with advanced safety protection being a novelty. Another feature is that the controller is equipped with a secondary input with a receiver connector. This second input can be configured to control the governor's gain from the transmitter, or it can provide current speed information to the governor or can perform security functions.

The basic controller parameters can be programmed using the transmitter's gas lever or programming card. All controller parameters are then programmed by the freely available Castle Link application for Windows computers. The controller connects to the computer via a special converter to the USB port. We recommend that you purchase the Quick Connect jumper to connect the USB converter more easily.

Before using the controller for the first time in your specific model, it is necessary to verify that the controller is sufficiently cooled by the air flow from the aircraft propeller or helicopter rotor. High temperature reduces the life of electronic components and thus the controller.

The controller is not equipped with a BEC source for powering the receiver and servos. Use either a separate battery or an external power supply to power the receiver and servos.
