Clear nitro lacquer for protection of metal parts and tensioning of covering papers for small models and mini models. For application by brush, roller or spray.
Application: Thin the lacquer as needed with KAVAN STANDARD thinner; apply to the coating with a soft flat brush or roller. Apply 2-4 coats; always let the coating dry for at least 24 hours and sand with fine sandpaper 600-1000. When used on a model with an internal combustion engine, it is necessary to apply a fuel-resistant topcoat (e.g. KAV56.9990 KAVAN topcoat POLY, 5MA4401 RC Color colorless spray paint).
Removing excess undried varnish: A cloth or paper napkin moistened with KAVAN STANDARD Thinner.
Lacquer dilution: Lacquer is supplied in a concentrated form, depending on the need and method of application, it can be diluted with KAVAN STANDARD thinner in any ratio to achieve the optimal consistency for application.
Suitable for: Surface protection of metal parts (brass, copper, aluminum, etc.) against oxidation and as a "stretching" varnish with limited shrinkage for stretching modeling covering papers and textiles (e.g. Vlies) on small models and mini-maquettes with a subtle skeleton. (Compared to STANDARD or COLOR stretch varnish, it has much less shrinkage and also adds less weight.)
Not suitable for: Materials not resistant to organic solvents (foamed polystyrene, etc.).
Addition of model weight: 10 ml of undiluted varnish adds about 0.7 g to the weight of the model.
Storage: In tightly closed packaging, in a cool, dry and dark place (at a temperature of 15°C to 25°C). Do not expose to temperatures below 5°C and in no case to frost.
Durability: If the conditions of proper storage are observed, we guarantee a shelf life in the original, unopened package for 1 year while maintaining the above-mentioned product properties.
