Der Kleine FALKE (The Little Falcon) is the ideal first "adult" glider with which you will gain basic building skills and learn to fly a free model. And that's not all - you can build Der Kleine FALKE as a free-flying glider of category A1 (international class F1H) and fly it just for fun or take part in student competitions, but it is also possible to equip it with a small receiver with two servos to get small RC glider. And we don't stop there - you can also mount a pylon with a small AC electric motor with a push propeller and enjoy flying with a motor glider. Due to the thoughtful design, Der Kleine FALKE can be completed as a free-flying model first; remote control and motor can easily be added at any time later! Or vice versa...
During construction, thanks to the precise laser-cut parts, you only need the most basic tools (modeling knife, razor blade or jigsaw, sandpaper, modeling pins, flat hair brush), modeling glue and varnish. Well-thought-out construction, interlocking parts, sophisticated tools supplied in the kit and a high degree of pre-processing will allow you to proceed quickly and easily.
The front part of the hull is made of laser-cut balsa and plywood parts, in which there is enough space for the ballast and timer for the free model as well as for the receiver or drive battery, two servos and the receiver for the RC model. Access to them will be provided by a removable cabin cover. The tail beam is made of a carbon tube guaranteeing low weight and high strength.
The all-balsa wing with the Jedelsky profile has a leading part formed by pre-ground balsa slats; thanks to the ingenious design, all you need to build it is a flat worktop. It is attached to the hull with rubber eyes.
The butterfly tail surfaces are made of laser-cut balsa planks. Rudders are suspended on nylon hangers; for their adjustment or control, a pair of wire cable guides attached to the carbon hull beam and introduced into the space in the bow of the hull are used. In the case of the loose model, the wires of the cable guides are stuck with a piece of adhesive tape to their outer tubes - this will keep the rudders firmly in place, but you can adjust them to fine-tune the flow if necessary.
The towing hook supplied in the kit allows Der Kleine FALKE to be towed on a 25-50m cable (silon fishing line) or fired with a small catapult (5m rubber 3x2mm + 20m silon line).
For the RC glider you will need an RC kit with a mix for butterfly tail surfaces, a miniature receiver and two 5-6g micro servos.
Der Kleine FALKE was designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic.
The kit includes: laser-cut balsa and plywood fuselage parts, pre-ground parts of the wing and tail surfaces, carbon tail spar, wire cables and small accessories, sandpaper, weight, rubber for securing the wing, tow hook, sheet of stickers, construction plan and construction instructions .
